One of the things that is missed about Ron is that his active lifestyle running around the globe with Kim tends to burn a LOT of calories plus all the injuries he sustains in aiding her would indeed require a lot of proteins and complex carbohydrates to heal all those bruises, burns, cuts, scrapes and cracked/broken bones at the rate they do. True, he should up his vitamin intake but it really explains why he can eat at the Bueno Nacho every day and only look a little soft without it affecting his "Mad running away skills".

The problem with these PSA’s is they seem to forget that children can’t control what they eat. If a kid told their parents to feed them healthier stuff, they’d get called an ungrateful brat or starve. Parents hate being told what they can and can’t do to their kids. This is why parents protested Michelle Obama and Jaime Oliver for changing the school’s menu. Plus these PSA’s and Supersize Me ignore the economic disparity amounts the majority of families, and the predatory commercialization of fast food restaurants. There’s a reason why the majority of them are found in poor neighborhoods and offer deals like a family sized meal for $5.00. Not to mention that fact that a lot of poor families live in food deserts where there aren’t any grocery stores within 20 miles. Then there’s the child neglect aspect. Kids who aren’t fed at home rely on school lunches to get any nutrients. Even if that food is poorly prepare to and unhealthy. They love to treat childhood obesity like it’s 100% a personal issue because that’s easier than breaking down a flawed system, poverty lines, and calling out fast food restaurants on their greedy exploitative bullshit. This is why PSA’s need to die.

I also never realized that Grande Size Me was a parody of the real-life Super Size Me documentary, which only made the episode that much worse. Talk about being a day late and dollar short on that one! A wasted episode that could have been spent in a much better way and actually progressed the Kim Possible story instead of horribly regressing one of it’s main characters and turning others into plot devices to fit into a contrived PSA. Admittedly, I did laugh at a few of the jokes in this episode, such as Ron repeatedly banging his head on the top of the door frames (a very Ron thing to do). I also got a kick out of the Incredible Hulk and King Kong references. That’s why it pains me even more when I say these jokes were wasted in Grande Size Me. A few laughs can’t save this thing.

I'd like to point out that the Super Size me Documentary has a lot of dishonesty attached. They actually had the dude do way more to get in worse shape so it would make for a more dramatic narrative. Edit: I didn't see the part where you went over that, good on you KP. That said you SHOULDN'T eat nothing but fast food, but sadly we live in a society where it's cheaper to be fat.

Re-watching Grande Size Me made me realize it was worse than I first thought. And I thought it was pretty bad the first time. I remember seeing this when it first aired and as someone who has frequently struggled with weight issues, the premise for this episode hit *way* too close to home. Once I got past the initial premise and looked closer at the “plot”, I could see how badly they assissinated Ron’s character. Sure, Ron has been the butt of the joke before. Several times. The creators even admitted that they would sacrifice continuity and character development of a character like Ron for the sake of a “good” joke. How well this worked is up for debate, but Grande Size Me is by far the most egregious example of forcing a message/joke at Ron’s expense. It’s like the writers were forced to completely disregard Ron’s character and one of the main aspects of the show. Ron *does* practicallly live at Beuno Nacho and half of the episodes involve Bueno Nacho in some form. Ron’s obsession with Bueno Nacho is one of his key personality traits and is quite literally *the* reason Team Possible is able to defeat the villains in both of the KP movies! Don’t believe me? Go re-watch A Sitch In Time and So The Drama and pay attention to the crucial moments that allowed Kim and Ron to ultimately defeat Drakken and Shego both times! Yet, all of sudden, *now* Ron’s attachment to Bueno Nacho is a problem?? Seriously, give me a break! Grande Size Me is one of the worst examples of executive meddling and forced corporate messaging I’ve seen. Aside from the contrivances, plot devices, and the horrible character assissination of Ron, it also wasted precious episode time on a completely pointless PSA. For those who were fans of the show back in the day, Kim Possible’s renewal for a fourth season was completely unexpected. Everyone, including the creators, expected So The Drama to be the finale. We were given a gfit. Most unfortunately, some of this gift was wasted in the form of this “episode.” Grande Size Me made no sense within the context of the show and especially in the setting of the fourth season and Ron’s character growth. If they absolutely, positively, *had* to include a PSA, it most certainly should have been subtler and written in a way that was consistent with Ron’s character and the final season of Kim Possible while still effectively getting the message across. Instead, Grande Size Me beat us over the head with a message that had all the sublety of a sledgehammer. Up until today, I agreed with the fandom consensus that Royal Pain was the worst episode of KP. Now, after re-watching Grande Size Me and your video review, Royal Pain has been dethroned from that spot.

The studio that made it is out of Kilkenny Ireland, they're doing still mostly traditional style 2d animation with a huge level of detail, and with the pandemic pretty much nobody saw it in theaters. I think it was lazy to write the solution for the vatoacid hulk as fresh foods. It reduces the lesson for kids to be vegetables good. I think the better lesson is that we should not be nudging people to buy excessive portion sizes, which the offer of supersize did.

I'm a new fan to the series and especially love season four, mainly due to the Ron/Kim relationship, and I will say this is the only episode that was hard to watch. Some of my other favorite shows such as South Park and Star Wars The Clone Wars have episodes that I just skip over so this one bad episode doesn't ruin the season for me. The reason I think it's so bad is not just because Ron gets off without consequences and that it's pretty gross, but that it is untrue to the characters, mainly Kim. I feel like Kim is very negligent in this episode, her boyfriend is basically killing himself and all she can say is "You should eat a salad", that's something PSAs tell you to do not someone who loves you and cares about your health. I wish Kim would have tried to do more than just lecture him, it could have been a very interesting storybeat.

I still think "Homecoming Upset" was the series' low. Bonnie was unbearable in this. While most fans like S4 because 'muh ship', I think the writers flanderized Ron quite a bit. "Ill-Suited" major plot of Ron stealing Kim's suit is kinda awful, and the whole "I think she's doesn't like me anymore because i'm not popular" schtick implies that he thinks Kim is shallow....

Now that you mention it? Where did they get all of that healthy food? Does Kim have a Costco membership that no one knows about? This episode was one of those episodes that is a distraction from the main plot. And yeah, it felt kind of preachy at times. I had some laughs with this one even though it was over simplified and didn't accomplish it's goal to to reduce obesity in the US especially among kids. Then again the same thing is true about the documentary that this episode parodied. It's easy to put the blame on restaurants just trying to get us to eat their food but ultimately, we as eaters have the power to demand more healthier options. McDonald's sells salads and other healthy options aside from their classic menu items. Even McDonald's knows that their customers are looking to eat healthier and have adopted to the demand. Then you have The rise of Subway, Chipotle, and other fast food chains with healthier options. Plus no one mentions how important exercise is in addition to diet. If you live a sedentary lifestyle, then no matter how you eat you will not be as healthy as you need to be. The episode missed out on that important part as well as the movie. But wasn't Ron on the Football team at the time where he was getting exercise which could have made Ron less fat? Yah that makes no sense. Then again, I watch Kim Possible for entertainment and any logic goes out the window. I'm pretty sure everyone suspended logic when watching this episode. I mean we get Hulk Ron! 🤣🤣 for me though. The worst episode for would be Larry's Birthday where Kim's cousin Larry is your stereotypical geek and I find that very insulting, as a professed geek. Like most geeks can be unsupervised outside the house. Wasn't it his 19th birthday? Like he's a grown adult and if he wants to go to the comic store by himself, he should be able to do that. Ok, I just remembered that many geeks identify on the Autism spectrum. It was very unclear if that was the case with Larry. Now I kind of see why the parents insist on him being supervised all the time. As is the case with my Older Brother with autism. Still, what You get is a bunch of stereotypes of Geek culture and Geeks/nerds. I get the feeling that we're too passionate about our fandoms to the point that we are not function human beings, socially awkward and sometimes it's a boys only club seeing how Larry treats his girlfriend. There are geeks out here with jobs/careers, families and killing it while being passionate about their fandoms. Yes there are some toxic geeks but not all of them are like the toxic ones. This episode for me was Hella cringe. Geeks are not a monolith or just another clique in High school. Actually, I don't even know what today's "Cliques" in schools are now.

It is a pretty bad PSA. It isn't really that Ron eat junk food that is the problem here, it is that he eats more calories then he uses and it doesn't get that message through either. You can get fat eating only super healthy food too, it is simple math. Sure, junk food and processed food have other drawbacks as well but they don't talk about that either. If you must make a PSA, at least try to teach the kids the facts. The real problem here however, is that it isn't funny. That old Simpson episode where Homer gains weight to be able to work from home basically have the same lesson but it was fun to watch, here it is mostly painful.

it's weird i think i remember hearing about Super-Size Me but never actually watched it. of course You'd be sick or just feel bad if you ate nothing by fast food but that doesn't mean you can't eat it every now and again. the fact that people were up in arms during those times still confuses me. growing up, i always got McDonald's if i was going to see my Mom or we were out and about and needed a quick fix. that doesn't mean you go there every night. and even then i don't think it's that bad if all you ate was fast food but the way i saw it from the clips, it's like the guy ate large amounts of food every day! and feeling bad after 10 minutes after eating or continue to eat? he must have not been healthy to begin with. it's just dumb to think fast food is the problem.

Yeah wish things didn’t have to go back to the status quo so much. Anyway great review but I think my least fav episode is the split episode that includes the nanny stealing pacifiers (forget the name) at least this episode had some funny Drakken moments:)
