4:12 I actually really like anthropomorphic starters, and cannot understand the "too humanoid" complaints following these Pokemon. 1. Chesnaught really works for what it wants to be. It's a powerhouse Glyptodont. It's not a favorite, but I don't get people who call it "ugly" either. 2. Here, I will share another hot take: Delphox has a more interesting design than Braixen. While Braixen just appears as a standing fox, Delphox actually appears as a fox mage, complete with long, red dress-like fur! How could you go wrong with that? 3. While Incineroar's hands appear rather awkward, everything else about this Pokemon is rather fun and badass. 4. Primarina's my personal second favorite water starter. Everything about it is divine and pristine. 5. Both Meowscarada and Quaquaval have remarkably satisfying designs and fun personalities. I don't get anyone who rags on them at all.

I’m personally not a fan of meowscarada. Looks like it’s asking for r34 but I don’t mind the idea of a magician cat. I do think humanoid starters are hit or miss with most people but I’m not against them.

The Generations 1-2 art styles are iconic. The Generations 3-4 art styles are the best. Fantasy is meant to be separate from reality, meaning that the Generation 9 art style is worthless and unrecognizable to people. That is about it.

4:44 and things like this is why I don’t get dexit people. I have said this so much but some Pokémon are better off never existing. While I do think enamorus is ugly, it isn’t exactly unnecessary if you know what that group of legendaries is based on. I’m not really a fan of any of them to begin with. They’re all kinda ugly in my opinion.

I like BDSP more than Platinum. I have both. BDSP has better graphics and better type variety thanks to the underground, and the fairy type, and following pokemon, and the busted EXP system means I can raise more than just 6 pokemon. Flint is BETTER with type variety. The fact that they copy the originals does absolutely nothing to decrease their quality.

Greninja is definitely objectively overrated but personally id say i dont like it. As for the other 2 starters they are fine for what they are because they represent RPG classes so they are cool in that sense.

Yeah, the problem with BDSP is that they are effectively ports of 15-year-old games. Praising them is implicitly suggesting that Game Freak has literally not improved in any way in that time span, which on the other hand is something people are willing to claim outright.

The Pokédex back then acted sort of like fables about the Pokémon. I don’t think the Pokédex is a wild as it used to be. Many recent Pokédex entries debunk other ones due to new research being found. Sure there are a few (most notably with a lot of ghost types) but they are way less exaggerated then they used to be, so some disbelieve can be suspended.

My hot take: gen 5 is now both overrated and overpraised, so many gen 5 pokemon are ugly and it's the generation that added the least important features in the history of pokemon games

I still don't see how people think Semisear is ugly. Semipour is ify and Semisage is yuck, but leave my funny gourd-shaped friend outta this!
