Most vegans are normal people, you just don't notice them because they aren't the ones acting crazy about it. I'm not a vegan but I've known and lived with them before and they've all been completely normal people. Many vegans are really passionate about the vegan lifestyle and animal welfare and try to encourage others to be vegan, but the ones who are really crazy and obnoxious about it are in the minority. I had a vegan roommate and the most she did was offer me vegan cookies and ask if I wanted to go to an animal sanctuary with her because she knew I loved animals.
