Slapshot...My ultimate favorite movie...My hometown Hornepayne NW Ontario is where Goldie Goldthorpe grew up and played hockey...He was the inspiration for Ogie Ogilthorpe in the movie. Also a little known fact...It was the first American movie translated in french in Quebec. No doubt that Yvon Barrette/Denis Lemieux and Yvan Ponton/Jean-Guy Drouin had something to do with that...They would've say something like " If you do the translation in France like usual, It will sound totally stupid " In Quebec, Hockey is way stronger than religion 👍👍

My dad & I laughed throughout this movie. We were in tears it was so funny. My dad was a huge Montreal Canadians fan and used to see all of the greats play. When we moved to the US we went to a lot of Houston Aeros hockey games. Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe were all on the team. We saw Gordie score his 800th goal. Even though my dad saw the best teams in pro hockey he said a Houston Aeros - Winnipeg game was the best he had ever seen. The Aeros were down 4-1 with just over a minute to go and they ended up beating Winnipeg in the most excited game ever. My dad and I loved Slap Shot and especially the Hanson Brothers! They added to the hilarity! Another hilarious show we laughed all the way through was Blazing Saddles. Our stomachs actually hurt from laughing so much. Both those shows were masterpieces. This program is so great with Steve Carlson talking about the way things were. All the best to him!

I went up to concession stand during next period and the Lightning rep was walking the three of them around the concourse to wherever it was they were supposed to go. I yelled over to them "HEY, I'll buy you guys a soda after the game" and right away they shot back "Yeah, but none of that stinkin' root beer". Funny stuff...

Remember that winning streak you and Baltimore had, I believe it was a 17 game win streak and the funny thing was that the streak started when you beat the Bears ... and 17 games later you were back in Hershey and the Bears ended your streak. See Bennett Wolfe much? : ) ... You and the rest of the Hanson's posed for a pic with me when you guys came to the area for a charity game. You guys had a bad temper as you started roughing me up just because I asked you if you wanted a stinkin' root beer. ... I mean, you could of just said No. LOL - ...
