To be completely honest, the movie only has two of the Carlson brothers. The third, jack, was playing for the Edmonton Oilers at the time so they had a teammate, Dave hansen, come along to play the third Hanson brother.

I remember Steve Carlson from watching him in the early 80s for the Baltimore Skipjacks. The family that had season tickets allowed me to fill-in for their daughter who never wanted to go to the games. The son from that family who was my brothers age (4 years older than myself) had a yellow Skipjack's jersey signed by Steve. The Dad gave the signed jersey to me after his son was killed in a car accident. That jersey is special to me for a number of reasons. His Dad also gave me an early 80's Oilers Gretzky jersey signed by the great one.

Yes, well another important detail is that the character of "Dave 'Killer' Carlson" in the movie, was based on Dave Hanson, who they cast as the 3rd "Hanson" brother. Nancy Dowd (the screenwriter) simply swapped the names, making the "Carlson's" into "The Hanson's" and making Dave Hanson, into "Dave Carlson."

Saw them many times against the LONG ISLAND COUGARS in the early 70's after the Ducks folded, went down to PA to see them in the playoffs too

i remember we had some kids puttin' on the foil back in 71 in bantams. there were rarely any fights, but i guess it's good to be prepared.

Jack Carlson was in the WHA playoffs with Edmonton at the time of the movie…not the NHL.
