I think the door thing they just moved the blue cables to the side. You can see how they just moved them over to allow space for the ladder. As for the packs, Egon took a few of them and modified them later, I think.

Yep, look at the position of the blue cables relative to the back wheel on each vehicle. The blue cables got moved further back on the new vehicle, seemingly in order to make room for the ladder.

Thank you for the video! Please do not mess with that car...lol. Far as Blitzway, I have sent them an email begging them to do a second release of Ecto-1. There are too many fans that did not get a chance to get one. I would rather have this '84 version. They have the tools. They have the talent. And the molds too.

To help you and clear up some confusion, yes, every Ghostbuster had their own Proton Pack, and in terms of real world filming, in both the 84 and 89 movie all four were slightly different from each other. [SPOILER IF ANYONE HASNT SEEN IT ALREADY] Egon only took his own pack and modified it (shotgun grip, gaffer's tape around the handle, etc) after he had split from the team. That's why when Peter, Ray and Winston show up they have theirs while Phoebe has Egon's.

7:20 On the original the tubes go into the car over the front of the wheel well and on the new one the connection is over the middle of the wheel well so the blue tubes moved back a bit to make room for the ladder.

Great video, I missed out on the figures at the time and pray one day that blitzway re-release them, but I just don't see it ever happening sadly, so I'll have to grab the set off the secondary market. I did however manage to pick up the ecto 1 which I am beyond relieved with.

Would love some 1/6 figures or gadgets from Afterlife but sadly Hot Toys don't give a crap about such films. A 1/6 Muncher would be cool. The Blitzway Ecto-1 & figures are absolute Masterpieces in any collection.

The Blitzway Ecto-1 and 1/6 scale Ghostbuster figures are AMAZING! I was just getting into collecting when they released these… On another note, I wonder if Hasbro are calling it “Egon’s Proton Pack” because Egon invented it? Rather than being his own personal proton pack.

I got to hand it to the people who work for Blitzway, they really went all out to have the Ecto-1 made for the 1/6 scale Ghostbusters figures. I wish I could afford the Blitzway Ecto-1, but I can't afford anything crazy expensive. Plus, I don't have very much space to display it. I am aware that 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex cars aren't easy to come by nowadays, but if I were fortunate to come across one in good condition on the outside and inside a little rusted some that someone wanted to see at a fair reasonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very own film-accurate replica of the Ecto-1 down to the last detail and I would use the Blitzway Ecto-1 as a reference model and the Haynes Ectomobile Owner's Workshop Manual to have something to go by and I would also make the proton pack gurney for my Ecto-1 replica to look exactly just like the gurney that came with the Blitzway Ecto-1.

They just moved the blue hose back a couple feet above the rear wheel to fit the ladder. If they re-release this car I’m buying a second one to customize it to look like ecto -1a from Ghostbusters 2! 👍🏻 but I love owning this car, still can’t believe I am lucky enough to have one and all the blitzway Figures.
