Could some of those weird revive locations be locations from warhammer 2 I thought telcis started at the volcanic islands in warhammer 2.

1 Thing to note: To my knowledge if a Legendary Lord can be revived in a province it takes priority(example is the Tor Anlec - Nagarythe situation, I have to test it but I think ive gotten Alith Anar revived with the whole province owned) - will come back after testing

Great video as always, but according to my tests all corruption does not matter in WH3 for reviving: Home faction was wiped out -> revivable faction army spawns Home faction is still alive or was confederated -> rebel army (modified by corruption) spawns Also extra shout-out to Tzeentch and Eshin as they can just revive factions with the pressing of a button.

EDIT: @user-uz9ih3ev7x Thanks so much for picking up on this - my previous testing was obviously faulty (likely the faction had been confederated). I tested again using force rebellion on various highly corrupted regions and was able to revive factions 100% of the time regardless of 100% Chaos Corruption, Nurgle Corruption or Vampire corruption. What a screw up on my part! Damnit, I didn't test thoroughly enough and jumped to conclusions, was rushing too much! I have edited the video as best I can, once it updates in a few hours it should be more correct.

@@MercytheMad Hey Mercy, yeah, I have seen that you already updated the video. I noticed this some time after moving to WH3. I did also run some test again with every corruption type (as Skaven was always missing) to make sure that the results are 100% valid and reproducable. The results: it does not matter which corruption type, the home faction is always revived when it can be revived. If only real rebels can spawn and should multiple corruption types be at 100% (which is possible in WH3), it seems to be random which kind of rebels spawn. For Science!

Playing as Drazhoath currently. I plan to kill Astrogoth a lot to get that juicy defeat trait. I doubt this will come in handy but maybe.

Unfortunately the defeat trait Astragone is bugged, you only gain spell resistance from it. I and some other people have already submitted acknowledged bug reports (even including how to fix it) to CA about it, but unfortunately the spellcasting increasing effects are not fixed yet... so better farm Zhatan for a useful trait.

It's been idk how many years, 3 or more that i'm trying to revive dwarfs. Never managed to do that. I don't think they're revivable. At least Thorgrim Grudgebearer. I tried it in WH2, i tried in WH3, never worked out for me.

I'm also a "Reclaim the Holds" enjoyer! Check Blackwall's revive map, Thorgrim can only be revived in Karaz-a-Karak settlement (not in any of the minor settlements) .

@@MercytheMad i checked it, and that's the problem. It shows Karaz-a-Karak, but i tried to revive them at least 5 times there. It never worked. That's the problem. This is why i usually load the autosave of some turns prior to their destruction and try to do something if it's possible. Or maybe it doesn't work with the empire. I'm still not sure how the revival thing works. Maybe there are some faction limits to revive someone. I think i saw some info like that. Like... Idk... You can't revive dwarfs with demons of chaos for example. There were moments when i revived Kislev as Empire, and there were moments when i couldn't do it. Like there's no consistency. That's why it feels kinda strange. Maybe it follows the same random pattern as good/evil victory? There are games when Kislev is obliterated super fast, and there are moments when Kislev dominates all demons of chaos and norsca. Same for Dwarfs, it's some kind of pseudo random that i can't explain. It feels like when you launch your campaign for the first time, when the game loads, it attributes victory/loss to a faction since the very beginning, and no matter what you do, this race won't be able to break the algorithm. I love to offer settlements to my allies. I do that quite often as the Empire with Kislev. If Kislev loses since the beginning, no matter how many settlements you offer them, they will lose them all, because since the beginning the game attributed Kislev a loss algorithm. But if Kislev gets a win algorithm, they will survive no matter what, even with 1 settlement. To the point where their enemies won't attack them, or lose with stronger armies. The system is pretty weird tbh.

@@artemkh8944 Yeah the game literally does give each major faction a "potential rating" at the start of each campaign which determnes how string they will be. it's random. Are you 100% sure Thorgrim was not confederate when you tested? If Ungrim or Belegar already confederated them (happens sometimes) they wont be revivable, but you can get them if you revive whoever confedded them.

I spent over 100 turns trying to revive Boris where this map shows he is revived after he got wiped out turn 10 in a campaign. Either this map is wrong, or there has been changes recently. Boris does NOT revive where this map shows.

Map says he revives in Novchozy. I think I remember reviving him there myself in the past and think I recall at least one other person I spoke to having also revived him there (but my memory may be faulty). Note - if he was already confederated by Kostaltyn or Katarina or someone else, or there is corruption he may not be revivable. Not sure what else could account for it.

@@MercytheMad Its a strange occurance. I dont think he was ever confederated either since he died so fast. Though now that I think about it, kostalton owned the region while i owned the city itself where Boris is said to be revived. Possible that has something to do with it.

@@elvfrem can also be the case of because shadows of change changed that province, boris doesn´t work always to revive, try again every other settlement in the province but it should be novchozy as far as i last tested

the provinces that got a little bit mixed up since shadows of change are southern oblast, celestial riverlands, eastern oblast, western oblast and amanra swamps probably because settlements got changed to mayor settlements hence why boris sometimes doesn´t really work

If you are playing an untainted base faction you can easily cause rebellions in your own settlements if you want to revive a faction To do this the only thing you need to do is to send a bunch of your unwanted heroes(those that you do not intend to use in combat in armies)that don't have access to spread public order skills in their blue line to a heavily chaos corrupted land and leave them there for at least 10 turns consistently After that, all of them will gain insane trait that will decrease the public order in your local province by -5 Stack a good amount of them in your territory and you'll have a rebellion soon This is a guaranteed method and I myself use it regularly to revive the factions that I want to confederate currently in WH2(because I don't have WH3 yet, not yet) Be advised that the heroes should not have innate spread public order skill in their blue skill line or else that will interfere with your negative public order penalties Also do not forget that you have to be an untainted base faction, any corruption will dismantle the process

Yeah faction Slaanesh can just straight out revive any faction they want by taking a settlement- but those daemonic degenerates need no help from me! :P Blackwalls map still helps Slaanesh know which settlement to hit though!
