I taught myself a similar technique many years ago...most spin the knife when they throw it but I would aim and throw the handle end first and it would rotate 180 but that's it. I was the best at long distance among many friends because of this technique. I could throw from anywhere but others had to stand at a certain distance so their throw would line up. Usually like ten feet away...
@Soluscide2 жыл бұрын
Would like to hear more about how this technique works.
@disguisedcentennial8352 жыл бұрын
@@Soluscide it’s one of the most common in competitions. Half spin throw. No spin throw is best tho. He talks about no spin more in his response to Shadiversity. No spin throw allows for much greater freedom in range.

Back when I was a drywaller, I could flick drywall screws with my thumb and middle finger. They would stick into drywall. And didn't tumble, but flew straight like a dart. Your video was interesting to me as I thought all knife throwing involved spinning or tumbling the knife. I now see how I was able to make the screws fly straight.

What impresses me is how easy it looks to make them ourselves with simple primitive tooling. And how they *don't* look like an illegal weapon at first glance but more like a tent stake or other tool. And how naturally balanced they look! And how solid they thump on impact, implying a serious driving, penetrating force. And yes, I'm sure the groove has to be a help. Maybe on both sides.

As helpful as that groove might be, I think it's also a crutch. For a symmetrical knife with no grooves, you can throw the knife whichever side is up or down. But with a groove, as soon as you reach for the second and third knife, you have to fiddle (as seen here) to make sure the knife is right side up. It slows you down if you want to make rapid successive throws.
@kelainefes2 жыл бұрын
I mean, you could just hold your knives with the grooves all on one side so that you can just grab them without having to check.

Throwing knives seem to resemble actual knives less and less these days. These are looking more like a dart or bolt or a slightly-flattened-pointy-shard of grooved metal. They do look comfortable to throw. And they seem to get some great penetration. I bet the groove is really helpful for beginners and pros alike ! It's just the price. Unfortunately there is no way this beginner can afford these beauties. Anyway, I hope you do a follow up video after you've used these for a while to let us know your thoughts then.

Thanks brother, nice grouping, I have to say. I love those. I would like to have a set. So.... The Grove. I dident make these. But. What I know about groves is that. They are usually for an easier removal of the blade after it enters a body. As I understand it. Thy will not pull out of a body easly unless they have a BLOOD GROVE. They definitely are not for throwing controls. Yes I'm aware you are a profesional. So please. No offense. But if you look. I'm shure you will find out that is called a blood grove. If it helps you throw better Thats just an added bonus. But, thanks, I really like throwing weapons. And I like seeing you throwing so nicely, as well as the tools you show. Thanks brother, peace ✌
