Was devastated when cold chisel split in 83-84, thought no one could replace them, was disappointed when powder finger announced their final concert tour. Just listening to Revolution by John Butler Trio, and satisfied Australian made rock is alive and well, looking forward to a new era of Aussie rock legend

What a way to open up an album. Everything about this song is genius to me. It's good to hear Nicky Bomba back on drums too! We need more people with hope, like Butler. Great video too!

how does this only have 117,481 seriously this guy is a legend, jbt music is incredible. To many 90's kids ( not all of you) and the current music producers and record labels have just destroyed music completely, there is just nothing enjoyable any more im losing faith in current and future music scene and fast, we need to wind back to the late 80's early ninties

For the musos wondering, the little black thing he uses at the start is called an "Ebow". It's this thing that creates a magnetic field between it and the strings, making them vibrate really fast, which gives you endless sustain. JB has about three loops going into a loop station, so he's building them up at the start. The company "Ebow" are the only people who make them though, so no competition means they can set their prices high. I got mine for $200 something.

@SookyTurner in his hand . Just a little plastic device with a bobbin (e-magnet) in it . Makes the string vibrates somehow ... anyway the point is : you place your ebow next to the strings and they go "Zzziiiiinnnnnggggwoooooooooooooooozzzzinnng" violin-like . those things are a bit expensive , but cool .

Don't waste your time. Some people just don't understand. Especially over the internet. To make a difference it's all about the real life experiences. You gotta lift people out of slumps and negativity. Be the change. Through doing this you will elevate your state of consciousness to one that omits love, compassion, joy and happiness to all those around you. Use less offensive language, encourage positive vibes. Try not to condemn negativity. Fighting fire with fire doesn't work.

@spindatshit1 I couldn't agree with you more and relate to how you feel anymore than i do (i hope there are others that feel this way also)... John Butler has all the qualities that most 'artists' of today seem to lack... Its a shame record labels aren't spending they're time, money and power on this guy and others like him. haha dont forget about the late 60's and early 70's some great music from the 80's and 90's were heavily influenced by that time period !

@themoz3 Yeah not really. He is a talented musician and his message is actually quite relevant. Watch the Zeitgeist Movement, The Obama Deception and Rise of the Republic as well as other sources to understand what he is trying to say. You don't have to, just might help you understand him.

you know if he kept this rawness and passion in his studio albums... he would be better received. That gutshot accenuation just isnt there when I hear this single on the radio. All I hear on the radio is a generic chrous line... which is too bad.
