They use a 'reaction wheel,' which limits their stabilizing force to how fast they can accelerate it (likely around 10 Nm). In my project, I use a gyroscope where the spinning mass is reoriented to generate up to 500 Nm of stabilizing force. This makes a significant difference in real-world applications, especially with a rider's weight on the bike.
