Hey man, Just want to add a couple of things in a constructive way, since I studied animal anatomy and morphology since well over 15 years now and it literaly is my bread and butter: Mammals have always cartilage on the nose. It extends always way over the bone structure. And if you want to go really deep, there are really good scientific papers, about, how you can know the soft tissue from the signs on the bone. We have mathematical formulas, to reconstruct noses! (-; Another thing is if it has a wide jawbone like yours, than the jewing muscules should be much more pronounced. There is also logic here: The bigger the muscule tissue in the lower part of the jaw, the more it is optimized for jewing all day. If the muscules are big on the top of the head, than you'll have a huge saggital crest, and the creature is optimized for crashing bones and tearing of meat. Saggital crest = bite force wide jaws = jewing endurance Oh, and strong muscles leave a rough surface on the bones, where they attach. Hope I could help, since that's my topic of expertise. Love your content btw!

Btw creatures with tusks growing into their eyes are normally just in captivity because in the wild they use their horns/tusks and they wear down or break faster than they can grow but in captivity they just keep growing

nice! I've always felt like at least somewhat knowing whats underneath makes exploration a lot more real. Never really thought about actually drawing a skull and building from there tho, thanks!

Jumping into details too soon was one of my biggest problems to shake in my art (still working on it. I've been using a lot of sui Ishida reference books to practice from because his art feels so loose and textured to me.

Hey just a question, would studying animals be recommended for creature design? If so how should I start?
@bobbyrebholz21832 ай бұрын
Yes. Start looking at animals and draw them. Books, photos, the zoo...

I'm trying to get more into digital art but I'm unsure which tablet to buy. Im kind of stuck between Samsung or XPpen Do you have any recommendations?
@bobbyrebholz21832 ай бұрын
It's really personal preference. I'm partial to Wacom only because I first used it 20 years ago. There are good options like Bamboo, iPad, Cintiq etc.

I have a dogo argentino Bobby! Is like a pitbull haha
"remember to name your layers" only names 2 layers. that seems about right. I always try to but it never works out and I have to go back, figure out what's what and name them that way.

Thanks. I made a comment in the pinned comment. I noticed it shortly after. I was just drawing a cow skull prior to the video 😆
