I have built a CNC router and have the same spindle. Unfortunately, it is weak to reliably mill aluminum, but for wood it is perfect.

Thankfully they sent mounting brackets for upgrading, but it would be more convenient to have a spindle that suits the machine right out of the box. The machine itself works great, I love it, and the spindle does work fine with wood and plastic. But it deserves more hp.

Using the controller to set the thickness of the probe (at 06:47) it seems possible to modify it with steps of 1 mm only !! That seems very strange, could you please confirm ?

cant decide between this or the anoleX 4030 evo ultra which is cheaper and comes with dual linear rails

AnoleX is good, I reviewed one recently and have a 6040 to review soon, but this machine has much thicker and stronger extrusions for the frame and also has dual linear rails on all axes. Only real difference is AnoleX is a bed slinger with dual rails and one ball screw between and this has dual rails and dual ball screws on the y axis, as well as closed loop nema 23's whereas AnoleX has open loop with the ability to upgrade to closed loop. The fixed gantry makes it rugged, but with the smaller extrusions it's arguable which is more rugged than the other without stress testing to their limits.

@@PandorusFightStickit has a smaller work area and only one motor on the y axis. The fox alien with linear rails is going to be superior I believe.
