I have been wearing Fjallraven kit for over forty years, both for my Ranger work, and for camping\trekking\bushcraft. It is excellent quality, but has become so eye wateringly expensive that I resent paying £150 for a pair of trousers. So I too bought a pair of Norwand pro pants from RR, and although the leg cuffs are indeed narrow, they are ideal if you wear calf length hunting boots in winter, as I do. For all year round use, get the GP pro rescue trousers, these have really good size vents, on thighs and calves, and zips to adjust leg opening to the size of boots, and are easy to roll up for river crossing. Pockets are good too. And with RR discount, they are £50 cheaper than Fjallraven Vidda pro trousers.

I have RVRC GPX pro pants. They're really strong and durable. Great for hiking and MTB and cycling to town or on weekend. Great for gardening. Great indoors. Great everywhere in fact I have worn them probably most days this year! Lower leg has zip to open out pants and widen e.g. get over boot. Pockets either side I find big and deep enough phone + other stuff lower zip pocket good for soft stuff e.g. tissues, string. Mine have elastic type fabric on rear down to back of knees and from the knees down on front. Good for MTB wearing kneepads. Only fault I would have with RevolutionRace trousers is that there are many options to choose from. So if you want good option like ability to open out lower leg and decent pockets you must make sure the one you choose has it.

I have the same experience with the legs, only they were for my very skinny daughter, about six years ago. (She was 15 at the time) So I guess nothing has changed. She couldn't fit them over her Lundhags boots. Ended up buying a pair of Lundhags pants. So much better in every way. I then tried again a couple of years ago, for myself this time. I ordered almost every model in every plausible size. I sent all of them back. I have thighs, ass and waist. None of the models could accomodate my figure. I'm not fat, just curvy. they are the most comfortable stylish pants among all of the outdoor clothes in my opinion, so for casual hikers they're actually perfect because many care about looking good and in the city those are awesome looking too and can be perfect. for example I drive an E-Bike for work and my old pants got worn out after like 6 months, RVRC pants could hable that for years and most of their clothes can be impregnated with a water repellant substance in a spray. the mentioned problems are honest opinion but they are not a problem for most people.

My pants are way better then those in the video and they actually have all features needed. Large ventilation zipers on the inside of the thigh with a mech with large holes. Long zipers from the leg ending almost up to the knee. Thigh pockets placed lower then the video pants with room for stuff closed by ziper. The leg endings are reenforced with a special fabric from Switzerland swiss made. They have stretch between the legs, knees, butt. Regular pockets at the sides closed of with a ziper. They are design to have a slim fit but it's well made so they are not tight anywhere. Cost more the the dubble of the pants in the video. But it's so worth it. Buy once cry once.

@@kevinnoel4647 the range of movement in most RVRC pants is quite impressive, i am in Germany and this brand is quite popular and very nice to have again the harsh weather here, and as far as I have tried they don't wear and tear easily, and they fit well when i lose weight and when I gain weight because the waist is elastic too, and you don't have to restrict yourself with a model or color that doesn't suit your style، I just order online and if it doesn't fit you can send it back. And that is just at first because they will recommend the right size for you based on your previous purchases. And above all that if you are patient you could get stuff down to 50% .

Is this guy a shill for Fjallraven? I own several pairs of Fjallraven and can testify these Revolution Race are almost the exact same pants at half the price. I spent close to a grand on Fjallraven gear and already worn through (large holes in friction areas) two pairs of their ‘durable’ canvas within a month of regular wear. These RevRace are considerably more durable product and they fit better too. I have muscular legs from 5K races and weight train regularly and the fit is wonderful. I actually find the Fjallraven to be ridiculously overpriced, nowhere near as durable and the sizing as way way too long because they’re designed for super tall Scandinavian dudes. Fjallraven kit also needs constant wax reproofing whereas the RevRace kit is good to go from without proofing because they have integrated protection. Thanks for the video but sorry I don’t agree. My only gripe is the sewn on logo is a bit cheap looking; If they made it in bonded heat embossed leather they’d put Fjallraven out of business!
@danceswithbadgers Жыл бұрын
Totally agree about the durability of Fjallraven trousers. The only pair I've ever had that hasn't worn out prematurely are the hyper-expensive Keb Touring, which are structurally softshell with cosmetic overlays of the useless G-1000. Since G-1000 is Fjallraven's signature material they're stuck with it but it's 'durability' is a JOKE. After wearing out several pairs of trousers made from G-1000 in very short order I'm done with it. Talking to Fjallraven about this resulted in a complete denial by them of G-1000's shortcomings. The Tourings are fine but heavy so I've also acquired a pair of Montane Terra Missions which have already survived the sort of use that would have seen off a couple of pairs of Abisko Lites with no apparent deterioration. I like the fit of Fjallraven trousers, as I need the long leg length, but no more G-1000 for me so the only ones I'd even consider would be the Keb Touring or the lighter Keb Lite, which don't use the G-1000 structurally but only, with a nod to it's 'iconic' status, as a cosmetic overlay. Edit: I believe the Keb Lite has been dropped and its replacement is the Keb Agile.

Agree, but it's different things that don't work on Revolution Race and Fjällräven. I don't like any of them. Haven't found what is useful for me. Bought Norrøna and Devold pants yesterday, let's see
@DoomOfConviction11 ай бұрын
He shows in the video that the revolution race lost color without even being washed once, and RR puts stretch matetial in the knees and ass, where you knee and sit at... So you want to tell me that these RR trousers are more durable and long-lasting than G1000 trousers with a double layer on the knees? I would love to hear your opinion a few years from now, but people aren't honest enough to come back.

I have a pair of GP Pro pants. Why the ankles are so tight is beyond me. They are adjustable yet the loosest setting won't fit over a pair of lightweight boots! Ridiculous, they are winter pants yet won't fit over winter boots!

It seems to me that you have an agenda with RR if you laced your boots up correctly the trousers would go over them easier also if you stood up and bent over the trousers would be easier to pull down rather than your knee being bent 😮 As for the cell phone in pocket issue phones are getting bigger I’m sure when these were designed they did take into consideration the average size of the cell phones 📱 I actually agree with some other points you make ie losing colour and tightness around the waste i own lots of RR products and I’m very happy with them I’ll certainly continue to buy from RR 🇸🇪

After having used Fjallraven pants for many years under severe conditions in the Alps, I have bought both RR pants in this review and I can fully, fully confirm the findings. The RR pants are relatively cheap, nice looking, good for urban use or light hikes, but they are NOT true outdoor pants.

It's exactly the same as my expirience. I wear GPPro for more one year now, but most of the time in the city. Very comfortable, and the material of my pants does not loose colour and does not get pilling. But the legs are much too tight, indeed. This feature seems to be the main problem of that pant. They very are ok for city use but not the best idea for outdoor. It's the same problem with other models of rvrc: the legs are too tight at the lower end, f.e. rescue pant. And the size recommandation is very bad.

I have the gp pro and agree with everything you said.I stopped wearing them because they were so narrow at the leg end. Also if you put them on barefoot the hook that attaches to your bootlaces can catch your toenail and pull it off. Very painful. I will pay more in future for fjallraven.Great video thanks 👍

It's a design choice. They have built the succes of their company by targeting those who buy their items for the looks. If you are on a small day hike, it doesn't really matter that much. Even a pair of jeans would do. They obviously sell primarily for people who uses them everyday on the street. Their marketing is all about slick looks.

Beroende på vad man ska göra använda dem till så funkar de bra. Däremot är deras prissättning och marknadsföring lite fullt. Det känns som de alltid har rea, och det är bara då de är prisvärda. De har höjt priser flera gånger under åren.

Revolution Race is basically entry-level for all things outdoors, it's not for experienced or picky users if you ask me. Also, if you give a single shit about sustainability, none of their products are for you, they very explicitly said it's not a focus area for them, but no surprise there.
