Hey everyone, after testing out both the pop3 and inspire, I have to say they both work great and are very similar although the inspire is currently about half the price. You can also save $50 on the POP3 using the discount code "ArtByAdrock50" at checkout. Enjoy and I’ll see you all in the next one.

I got in early on the inspire Kickstarter after watching your video. Glad the inspire compares relatively equally to the pop3 in performance at a far cheeper price point. I look forward to it's arrival. Thanks for a great video.

Great video, I'm actually deciding which one I should buy so this was very helpful! Did you maybe test these on some smaller objects? I'm wondering how much detail the Inspire can get on something smaller, if the difference will still be this small between Inspire and POP3.

I have a POP2 and have a lot of issue with my scans producing ghosts, aka version of the model that are shifted over a few mm or degrees. And thus i’m constantly having to watch my scans realtime on my computer so i can pause and backup frames when i start to see a ghosted shape appear (if i don’t do this, all further scanning will latch to the ghosted points instead of the pre-ghosting points). And sometimes the SW goes crazy and a scan just starts ghosting on itself for every frame, such that the point cloud just starts to take off toward infinity. Can I expect the Inspire to not do these things due to some kind of HW improvement? It’s all the sale SW so would have to be a HW improvement I think.

I still have that same issue here and there but it doesn’t seem that bad if go slowly. Usually once I send it to the point cloud in the software it fixes itself. (But not always 100%) Are you using the latest version of revoscan? I haven’t tried the pop2 so I can’t speak about that model.

I have a Range and Range 2 for large scans. I got scammed by Creality on the Ferret which was advertised as a dual scan mode which could scan small, medium and Large sized objects. It can’t small objects. It’s okay at medium and Large. I’m looking for something that can scan small to medium. To take the place of the Ferret. I looked into the mini which can scan only tiny objects unless you use as a handheld. Inspire looks like its minimum scan size is no smaller than the Range 2 at 50 MM. I’m thinking my option or between Pop 2 or 3. I owned a Pop 2 but at that time I was only interested in large scans. Both Pop 2 and 3 appear to have a minimum scan size of 20MM.

Hello. Thank you for the video. Beetween POP3, Inspire and Ferret, what do you think is best for collecting detail.

I would probably say the pop3 overall but they are all good. I guess it all depends on what you plan on using them for and your budget.

Almost the same for a fraction or the price, I think I did good by ordering the inspire.

Can this product scan a person’s full body?
@ArtByAdrock Жыл бұрын
Yes it can. It can be tricky and you have to go slow but totally doable.

@ArtByAdrock Жыл бұрын
@@ggjjggrs-j7t no it doesn’t fail, but sometimes you get ghosting if it can’t pick up the points accurately. I always suggest going slow and doing sections at a time. You can go in the software later and merge the scans.

Wow! They both did very bad. I work as a 3D scanner operator as part of my job for about 4 years now and I can say that the results shown in this video illustrateds that these scanners are very bad. Although the price is affordable, I think they are not worth it.

Well what do you recommend? I mean you work with it professionally so i think you can help us even better. If not i don’t get why you would post a comment like this.

@@erwinschouten379 In my opinion 3D scanners are getting better and better every day and this is just the beginning of affordable 3D scanners. Now the results are not good but the price is kinda affordable. I think there will be affordable scanners with acceptable results soon.
