Not many people have experience with different brands like you do. It's really hard to get quality time on different sleds. You have an advantage, and are much more credible in your videos than a lot of KZbinrs.

Thanks so much man that means a lot! It's been awesome to get to try so many sleds the last few years and hearing that others have noticed and feel it improves my content means a lot!🙏

@@Revrider550 What ponycarfan said! Your experiences on these different sleds brought me too you and have helped me make choices myself. They also give your opinions 100% credibility, keep them coming and don’t pay attention to fan boy haters! I think all of us wish we could afford to do what you do. 😉

Are you going to make it out on the new snow fall? I ventured into a single track area on tug hill last weekend that had a bunch of open areas off the trail where you could ride powder. Steep embankments and interesting terrain. Would be an awesome spot to play on the assault

I like the seating position on the polaris more then my own ski doo, I like how thin it feels between your legs, and of course the polaris makes all types of noises compared to the doo, like the safari noise when you break lol fun sleds Also I love the colours of your new sled, that’s what I would have ordered myself, looks awesome

I have the rsi spring scratchers with the one rig mounts on my n/a 850. I don’t think I saw the temp rise above 100 with them down. They have noticeably wore down but rsi has replacement scratchers.

I'm curious to see how the clutch does with trail riding. Seems the guys running Polaris in the mountains, in the deep snow are struggling to get 1k miles out of a clutch. Seen multiple go with only around 500mi. Muskoka Freerider just had his grenade itself through the belly pan at 700 kilometers.
@DMP_turbofox Жыл бұрын
I got 1600 miles on my boost last season. No belt issues, no clutch issues. No issues at all really, just sore from all the smiling

Have Rave and Assault. Its not that its 'stiff', the suspension is just not at the same level in compliance/calibration as the Lynx in big or small bump. You can demolish the moguls on the Lynx and still better in the small stuff while the Assault will beat you up. No comparison. Assault turns better with that lighter feel. The Assault will also run hotter than the Rave in the same snow conditions. I like both but each have pros and cons. Enjoy.

Ice scratchers make a huge difference. I didn't think they did til I tried them.

Had cooling issues on my matrix assault also- just gotta get scratchers. Best thing I ever did. Use them about 20-40% of the time.

I love my 22 XRS but after getting to spend a day on the Assault Boost I ordered one. It is the most fun I've had on a snowmobile. Does the R-Motion ride better? Yup! But the Polaris still rides good. I found once you back the compression out of the front shocks it absolutely rails corners. Looking forward to running it next season! I wish they had more track options but I am going to swap to a 1.6 Ice Cobra before it ever hits the snow. My only bitch was that it burned an extra 1.5 of fuel than my 850 at the pumps. Which just means I need to watch the fuel gauge closer than I would on my Doo on longer rides between stops.

Coming from a skidoo, I found my assault gets its best cooling at 40-45 mph. No fun, but can back it down to get her cool. I’ve got a 2” with no scratchers

I have the same exact sled! I added a new bumper and grill inserts so far and did the Underdog coating on it. First time applying that stuff. Not sure how or if there will be a benefit but thought it might keep things from sun fading if that would even happen. Mine got hot during the break in bit not so much now at 450 miles. Great sled so far. I dont think jumps are quite as pleasant to land as my ‘13 xf800 but just a great sled overall
@colewilliams767 Жыл бұрын
Don't look at the temp gauge so much. Been there when the ride seems to revolve around engine temp monitoring. 150F is not overheating. 170F is not over heating. Your sled will shut down if it gets dangerously hot. Ride and have fun and forget about Temps.
@jacobshinabarger9426 Жыл бұрын
I thought so too. My uncle has a 23 XCR 850 and he runs at about 130-150. I asked him if 150 was too hot he said no. just his opinion though. running at like 120 all the time seems impossible on high performance sleds.
@Revrider550 Жыл бұрын
I could be wrong so ill check the owners manual ASAP but on the boost it goes nuts over 165. Won't display the temp anymore just flashes temp warnings, the check engine light, and starts to run awful. Happened to me a couple times now. Accelerates slow and doesn't want to go past half throttle. Once I get it back below there it runs fine again. To be fair I was a little crazy about checking my temps since it was the first ride. I hate overheating a brand new engine so I was definitely timid.
@colewilliams767 Жыл бұрын
@Revrider550 I didn't know know that about the boost. That's not going to be ideal. The trail conditions you were riding were pretty typical of trail conditions on the hill much of the season. Maybe it's a break in thing. I'm going up tomorrow.

I would agree suspension needs tinkering. Gas mileage gets better after break-in. Mine took over 300 miles. Runs pretty rich those miles but once out of beak in runs pretty smooth. Excited to see what you do to your suspension. Im not quite sure what i wanna do yet there.

Put light duty torsion springs on. It makes a big difference. A ton of people have done it that even weigh 285lbs and it's much more compliant. Stock, the torsions are sprung too stiff.

I would for sure! Theres just enough difference with this sled between the accent lights, the sound, amd the power delivery that it feels pretty special everytime you walk up to it and take it for a rip.

We have to run actually plates here…..it’s bullshit! 😑. Where I use to live they give you a sticker but you can get custom one made with the numbers .
@Freneticburn Жыл бұрын
in MN its just a little sticker and color matched numbers to the stock decals or custom colors if you want Im sure. I've known people who have ridden for years without having the sticker on their machine but in a storage bin on the machine and never really got bothered about it as long as it was paid up to date.
