It's weird how rabidly people have gone after talents like Elira for relatively mild shady behavior and what amounts to a load of speculation rather than going after Nijisanj itself which has a mountain of truly damming evidence piling up against it. I think people just love to put a face on their enemy. Some of the other Niji talents such as Luca and Vox have had quite a bit of pretty serious evidence surface against them, but even in their cases, Riku and Nijisanji itself are SOOOO much more deserving of people's hate. Nijisanji's upper management deliberately threw these three talents under the bus by having them dox Doki's personal legal documents to muddy the water and take the heat off of themselves and Riku, and it worked. So many people swallowed the bait hook line and sinker. I'm not saying Elira is a good person, or Luca and Vox are decent guys. What I am saying is people are losing sight of the true villains in this story who have a mountain of tangible evidence pointed at them which are Riku and the other upper management who are running this exploitative and abusive company that has a long history of intentionally destroying the lives of its current and former talents and deceiving the fans.

Surprisingly, that was to its detriment for Other M since the former scenario writer of the series temporarily lost the plot so hard he killed the series for over half a decade like he was trying to spite Retro Studios for making Prime so beloved as a whole trilogy. Thankfully as of Samus Returns, he let Samus go back to being a stoic badass while acknowledging Prime is definitely canon to the core 2D games.

One of the takeaways I got from this situation is just how a lot of vtubers involved in this either don't have great self-awareness to the raging controversy going on, or they do and expect it to go away/be a non-issue for these specific instances. Each party has every right to feel frustrated or disappointed in whatever is going on, that I won't take away from people like Kuro whatsoever. With that being said, It feels like he should know better when you're put in the hot seat regarding how speculation and criticism is the constant. It won't be going away anytime soon at all, neither will this controversial climate, no matter how much individuals wish it to be over. I really hope they can acknowledge that so they don't put themselves in these vulnerable positions. It feels like Kuro could have easily avoided this and got his point across much more effectively if he kept his cool and took the high road with how he expressed it. All this might honestly be wishful thinking, as they might not even have the in-the-moment clout to keep that in mind, and thus, we're going to see the next liver make the same mistake for damn sure again.
