I've had the Schuberth C3 for a year and half and really like it. I've ridden across the US twice and the helmet is very comfortable with minimal wind noise.

Thank you for the positive review. The Schuberth C3 is one of the quietest helmets on the market. Their Bluetooth system is expensive, but integrates nicely with the helmet. They use a Schuberth branded Cardo unit for their helmets that have excellent sound quality. The chin bar is not designed to be worn at speed, but would probably be okay at speeds under 20mph. ~Ali

I bought two of the Schuberth helmets! They are the quietest helmet I have ever worn! I highly recommend them!

This helmet is very light weight. There is minimal buffeting on the highway thanks to it being very aerodynamic. The open face makes it really easy to put on, which is a nice bonus since I wear glasses, and taking it off is super quick thanks to ratcheting buckle and quick release. The sunshade is also awesome I no longer have to have a clear and dark visor with me. If I didn't mention something specific check the video(s) cause he pretty much nails it! Thanks for all the video reviews!

The S3 is the lightest, most comfortable helmet I have ever worn, modular or not. At highway speeds, head checks and turning are easy and without noticeable resistance, which makes commuting and touring much more confident-inspiring. The sound dampening is extremely good. I no longer need to wear hearing protection & hear my bluetooth earpiece clearly. In temps near 90° venting is very good but below 45°, the front vent can let a bit of cool air across the nose but keeps the screen clear.

Schuberth does not make it easy for any other aftermarket BT headset to be installed on this helmet. The placement of the sun visor mechanism makes it tough to mount a kit to without having to mount it at the back of the helmet. The C3 is specifically designed to work with the SRC set up, which makes this helmet a hefty investment. ~Ali

I've had my C3 for 5 years and ~60,000 miles. Living in Oregon with both a GSA and a Ural, I ride year-round or darn near. The C3 is very quiet, warm in winter, and cool in summer. It's been in triple digit temps in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts of CA and AZ and 10F and snowing in the High Desert of OR (I was on my sidecar, obviously,) and been fine. In high winds and/or high speed, it's been very stable. Uber quiet without being noisy, which is amazing. By contrast my first-gen Arai XD vents well, but is noisier, which is to be expected given the open neck and the duck bill. My only two minor gripes: Sena 20s was an OK fit, but Schuberth does not make it easy on you. The pinlock when you remove it to clean, make sure you get the adjustment correct or it will fog. That's on me, not Schuberth or pinlock. The pinlock will make it harder to see at night due to distortion. Also the double-pane which keeps the visor fog at bay does make the helmet a mini-greenhouse in summer, so occasionally I lift the visor for a a full air flush. Final thought: I'll be replacing my C3 next year with another Schuberth. I had a C2 before the C3 and they great helmets, albeit pricey. However, as I wear glasses, I've found the flip-up helmets to have been a godsend and the Schuberths in particular. They are not chamber music hall quiet, but they are darn close. When I get a call on my Sena, nobody knows I'm on a motorcycle.

Last summer, I rode 2000 miles from California to the North Dakota. I wish I had a modular helmet when I filled up at gas stations. And having a much quieter helmet would have been wonderful. I had to wear earplugs the whole way. I'm saving my money and will be ordering soon!

Had my C3 for a few days and then it was returned to be sent back to Schuberth in Germany due to what i believe is a fault. When i first got it, i noticed a few scratches on the sun visor. After a few days use, more scratches appeared, vertically, which were being caused by something when it was being retracted. I was told last week that germany broke up for a 3 week national holiday! (which must be nice for some) but im still to hear back about my £360 helmet 3 weeks on!!

Nice review, very informative! I previously had a Spirit DSV2 adventure helmet, the wind buffeting was terrible ... and the oscillations when wearing ear plugs, not forgetting the painful pressure points after a few hours.

Hi Anthony, first off, excellent reviews. Simply excellent. I watched the second video and read most of the comments. In this video you mentioned you had the helmet about a week or so. What are your thoughts to date? Did you experience the same issues as some of the riders here? Lastly, you may not be able to answer this but which do you currently prefer - the arai xd4 or the Schubert? I realize they are very different but I can only afford one. I ride on hot days and cold nights.

If anything, the C3 vents MORE than most other helmets. I believe the statistic was 6 gallons of air per second at 60mph. -CK

I thought Schuberth made helmets for longer than that - I thought they made helmets for the German Army during WWI. I own a C2 BTW - real nice, great quality lots of periferal vision and VERY quiet. BUT with a windscreen on your bike, the wind buffeting causes a loud low freq reverb. Without a touring screen its actually quieter. The C3 looks like they fixed a few of the problems (lift switch for one) the C3 looks good.

Also, I'm concerned about the ventilation on this helmet. It seems like with all the concern about noise and a less ventilated design than all the others, it would get pretty hot. Did you guys notice this?

Wow. Looks like I've found my new helmet. From your testing have you ridden with the flip in the up position? I ask because I ride an FJR1300, am behind a big CalSci screen, and ride a lot of IBR type rides. The biggest reason for getting a modular for me is to be able to grab a quick snack while on the go...something impossible with my current RF1100.
@RevZilla14 жыл бұрын
@novaphoenix70 Lol, I must say that I typically dont spend anything more than a stop light or 5mph with the chinbar up. If you are eating on the go, god bless you! Technically the helmet would be as non aerodynamic as you could imagine with the face up.

i too love your presentations....their speed is just perfect and you give very detailed information regarding the items. i have this helmet and love it. love the modular ability. the modular activity sounds very mechanical as oppose to plasticy. you made a good point.

Hi, I have a c3 for 9 months and I have to say that the quality is so-so...specially considering that I only use for touring, I have an agv as everyday helmet. 1st-my sun visor stopped working, it got stuck, back to the shop, they sent it for repair got it back after 1 week, working like a dream. But now for some reason I can't understand, the pin lock is not fitted properly nor can be done, it bends more than the screen. Also there is a hissing noise even at low speed that is really annoying
