It sure does. I actually just personally tested it and can confirm that the 2 shields are interchangeable. ~Ali

Are you asking for a comparison between the two? They are really quite different from each other. The SR1 is Schuberth's top of the line racing helmet, whereas the S2 is a full-face touring helmet akin to the C3 or C3 Pro. -CK
@RevZilla9 жыл бұрын
Lokalna D. The S2 is designed for upright riding, and it is a pretty quiet helmet, so as long as the helmet is an appropriate, snug fit, it shouldn't whistle. It will be quietest with vents closed. -DrewZilla

Thanks for the answer. Funny thing is it stoped doing that when I leaned forward and took the position like on a sport bike. I guess it could have been caused by number of things like my height, my shield, position, or even the helmet itself as I heard the opinions that some people do experience this problem but not on all of the gt airs..Shame I dont have it for longer test..

So, are we talking km/h or mph? I would say either would be fine at 150km/h and unless you are dead set on a modular, I would give the S2 my top pick. If you are talking mph, then stick with the SR1 and a tinted visor. I would also give Schuberth the edge over quality bluetooth systems. They use Cardo for their SRC systems that have great sound quality. ~Ali
@RevZilla11 жыл бұрын
I'd encourage you to reconsider at those kinds of speeds. The last thing you want is a gap in your protection where the sunvisor lives inside the helmet. The SR1 seems like the better choice for your riding style -CK

Hey Anthony, I bought this helmet from you all at RevZilla, and it has not left my head since I received it, With the exception of sleep and non-motorcycle activities. It is by far the lightest, quietest(except the C3) most comfortable, most functional helmet I have ever owned....great graphics to boot!! I highly recommend this for riding on a GS or any bike in the upright riding position.

This helmet is designed for the touring rider who wants the features of a modular in a full face helmet. Some other options for touring helmets with internal sun visors are the new Shoei GT Air and the Shark Vision-R. ~Ali

I considered the SR1 as well, but it lacks two things: built-in sun visor (awesome - use it all the time) and the possibility to put in the Schuberth SRC bluetooth collar.

I have this helmet, bought it a few years back. In total I have 4 helmets this being the most expensive one and I use this one the least. The build quality is ok, except the lining on the forehead that's kept together with double adhesive tape and it keeps popping off all the time. For a 500 $ helmet you'd expect the lining to stay in place. Overall, I wouldn't buy another high end helmet from Schubert. I'll stick to the AGV middle of the pack. Decent prices, decent build quality and better looks imo. Also, I have a big melon and this helmet is HUGE in the L size. The elongated chin guard hits the tank sometimes if you want to ride a bit more aggressive. In case anyone is looking at one of these on craiglists or something, I'd stay away.
@mofoninja112 жыл бұрын
I've been using the S2 for about 2 weeks now and it seriously is the best helmet I've ever owned. The level of wind noise is eerily reduced; like a helmet version of a sound booth. The comfort is top notch and love the level of detail of the helmet. No leaks whilst riding in torrential rain. Zero. Cons: Even with venting open, the drop-down visor fogs quickly in the cold while in slow traffic or stopped. Solved easily enough by retracting it but is a slight nuisance if it's bright out.
@Nick-tt2zi12 жыл бұрын
Just bought an S2, and all I have to say is WOW! Yes, this is a pricey helmet, but I'm impressed nonetheless. The fit is great for my head (mix of round/long oval). The sunshade is something I've grown accustomed to on my Scorpion EXO-1000, and this shield is better with more coverage area. Although it hasn't been hot enough to need ventilation, this thing FLOWS air! Seriously, it feels like it has a compressed air hookup. The attention to detail is excellent. Thanks for the review, guys!

It´s a bit funny. In Germany the S2 is brand new on the market like in the USA, but the SR1 was released in Winter 2011. I think the SR1 is more for everyone, not like the S1Pro (in Germany we say, that you need the typical Schuberth Head). It is an Intermediate Oval shaped helmet and in my opinion it fells a bit like a Shoei XR1100 (RF-1100 in the USA i think).
@RevZilla11 жыл бұрын
Compared to the C3 or the new C3 Pro, it's not as quiet, but it is still a very quiet helmet. Personally, I do not rate quiet as #1, since I always ride with earplugs and make sure any helmet I wear meets the highest safety standards. I think for a relatively small amount more, the SR-1 is a better helmet. ~Ali
@AndiOliverI12 жыл бұрын
No, I thought it will not be needed at first. But with the start of 2013 season I am planning to do exactly that. Of course, first I'll try to replace them with some in-ear headset to combine utility with pleasure, if that fails also, I'll go with plain and simple earplugs.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm from Europe, but I did mean 150+ mph :) Thanks for your input on the SRC system. It's gonna be used for bluetooth stereo audio (music) 99% of the time, but it's definitely Schuberth, if it has better audio quality. It'll probably be the S2. I realize that the SR1 is probably a better helmet close close to 200 mph, but I'm simply in love with the built-in visor in my current (although cheap) helmet. Not having to change visor for night/shade/cloudy is awesome.

I ride a Kawasaki Z1000 so it should be a good helmet for the 3/4 riding position. But I am wondering if the SR1 would be bad or still pretty good for 3/4. Or could you perhaps name a few other high end helmets that suit 3/4 riding position? Love your video's, it's like a motorcycle bible to me!

Outstanding review! Your reviews are really in a class of their own. I'm looking at Nolan and Schuberth helmets because of the OEM bluetooth sound systems. Which is the better helmet at 150+ speeds? Other than not looking as good with the graphics, what are the pros and cons between this and the GT Veloce? Does that visor effect safety? I noticed the C3 Pro had a safety rating of 3/5 stars where the GT Veloce was 5/5. Nothing really jumps out at me about modular that I have to have so I would prefer a better helmet and losing the flip up. Thanks for the link here Drew
@RevZilla8 жыл бұрын
Both are DOT- and ECE-rated, though the AGV doesn't necessarily have ECE labeling on the US helmets. They both also weigh about the same. The Schuberth is much quieter and has the convenient internal sun visor (doesn't really affect safety), while the AGV has a slightly larger field of vision and flashier graphics. -DrewZilla
@TheVigilantStewards8 жыл бұрын
Ooh tough choice... If you're wearing earplugs does it make a difference either way on the noise? If the field of vision is wider vertically I'd have to tip to the AGV with the GTX graphic.
@RevZilla8 жыл бұрын
The S2 is still quieter than the GT Veloce even with earplugs, but you'd be fine with the GT Veloce and earplugs if you do want the slightly taller vertical field of vision. -DrewZilla
@TheVigilantStewards8 жыл бұрын
Ah, vertical field of view is a big plus for me. I like to take in as much nature as I can :) The GTX graphic is excellent too. My thought was if the S2 is 84 Db and the GT is say 88... if the earplugs reduce conservatively 20db... we're talking 64 vs 68 db. That's not much when you're down that low. The S2 sun shade is a nice thing but it's not that hard to change visors for day and night - it doesn't beat the look and VFoV gain.

Hey. I bought a S2 this summer, and Im having A LOT of windnoise from the neck area. Seems like the neckroll in your video is a lot thicker than mine. Any idea if they changed the design? If so, where can I get a hold of the older thicker neckroll? If I can't fix this, I need a new helmet. Over 70 mph the windnoise is just too much, even with earplugs. But I can get rid of most of it if I hold my hand under my chin, so Im sure a thicker neckroll would fix it...

I can't speak to any changes in the neck roll design. That is simply not something I have heard of. We don't have a video showing the procedure, but it's pretty straightforward. With the sun visor in the lowered/exposed position, you'll notice plastic tabs on the left and right sides of the sun visor. Using your thumb, you lift the tab away slightly from the sun visor until you can slide the visor out. You repeat the same process for the other side of the visor. To install the new sun visor, you just click the sides of the visor back into the tabbed slots. -DrewZilla
