Hi guys! As always, watching you folks do stuff is incredibly entertaining, and you put a lot of experience and effort into your work! I'd like to offer some criticism that I feel should be said: I applaud the written article for saying you went through the bikes making sure they are safe to ride at speed, and noting that it's lucky the CBR landed in the hands of an experienced rider. I felt that aspect was missing from the video though. It made me worry that someone would think it a good idea to get started riding - and start riding fast at that - with a bike that may have safety issues such as a bent frame, and *especially* making an effort to hide it at the track day. While the article recommends spending a little more to get a better bike, the video doesn't. You could have made the video more informative to new riders by recommending thorough check ups! In fact, here's my suggestion for any riders who are new to either riding in general or track riding: Never try to hide any faults in your bike, never try to hide your own experience! In fact, go for the exact opposite, and here's why: Most people at track days are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you go in as a new rider and pull someone's suit sleeve and say "Hey do you know anyone here who could take a look at my bike, I just got it and I'm here for the first time," I'm almost certain they will point you to someone who'd be happy to check out your ride and make sure it's safe. And you might make a new friend while you're at it!

the Ninja 650 could ve very very different than the SV650... better suspension for the Ninja, but better engine for the SV... that V-twin gives you a lot better feeling than the paralell twin of the nInja, hands down.
@AntaresSQ013 жыл бұрын
@@MotorDanko Engine in the SV is actually not much more powerful than the ninja, the ninja has better low down power which ultimately is not too good for track riding. I tracked my ER6F and it's absolutely serviceable as a track bike. no problem getting knees down and with minor brake upgrades (pads, discs, braided lines) performance is all there to be competitive even in higher groups. Also the versys in the video is some premium grade shit cos that 650 engine puts out 72 horses stock, 68 in the versys (different cams even more low power) and can easily get 80 to the rear wheel with some in engine work and tuning
@MotorDanko3 жыл бұрын
@@AntaresSQ01 Is not about the end power, is about how each bike delivers the power, i found the V-twin much more enjoiable than the paralell 180º crank from the ninja or the er6f... both are nice bikes, but i found the 650 parallel kinda boring... if only it was 270º or similar could be much much more enjoiable, sound better, and feel better... at the end you don't track this bike to be the fastest.. so if any of them are faster than the other, doesn't matter to me... both are solid bikes tho.

The video was entertaining, and I really liked the concept. That being said, for new riders on a budget if you increase the budget by maybe a couple hundred bucks and spend a lot of time looking you can find much better bikes to use on the track or the road. These are the most loved and viewed videos Revzilla has. If they want more attention they need to up the budget for Common Tread videos.

Just like topgear. At the end, we learned we learned nothing. Thats why I love it.

I would buy either of them for those prices. Them are 2k a piece in the midwest though..

you can get a Kawasaki zx6r 600 r or a honda cbr 1000 for that price in my country

I had a first gen Versys, naked-modified. It was an excellent first bike for me, good power for a beginner and decent chassis and showa suspensions.

I wouldn’t go that cheap/sketchy, but there’s defo something to be said about being the underdog at a track day. Taking my little cb500f through inspection yeah people would look & judge next to all the Ducati’s, and I’d get overtaken a lot, but there’s a truly great feeling overtaking bikes that have twice as much power or more as you!

Knowing that Ari and Zack drove past my house in the South Bay Area to get to Sonoma without visiting makes me question our relationship /crazygirlfriendmeme

I had a 650R. It was a really great bike. Ton of potential with a good engine. The black and red color scheme was pretty cool.

Where are you guys picking up bikes this nice for $1,000? Those would be $2,500- $3,000 around here. You can barely find a '90s model Ninja 250 that's been dropped by 25 different owners for $1,000

Yeah, if it can be ridden it's at least 2k

Count on these two to do the sketchiest shit possible on two wheels...😂 My favourite duo on the internet. Period. Ykw!!??? You guys should do one episode with the CRF300L and the klx300

They did crf250L and verseys 300x

@@chrishart8548 Yes but you have got to agree it's not the same as comparing these two specifically...
@chrishart85483 жыл бұрын
@@vikasvasisht5378 hopefully they do. There is a klx250 vs crf250l somewhere but the klx was on carbs . but they were almost the same.

I have that same versys, to fix steering handlebar alignment, you have to loosen the front shocks, I believe that part is called the crown. Once its loose, you push on handlebars a few times and twist em around, so they align, then tighten. That fixes the issue for free.

Man that first run must of been more nerve racking than you let on with that twisted frame! You two are a riot! Thanks for the entertainment. I have had a few sub $1k bikes but the only one I would have considered taking to the track was a 1974 CB550Four

Wow! The bike inspections in America are so much easier to pass than in Australia! That was a real shock that those bikes passed. In Australia, we can't ride our bikes on the track if there is a slight scratch or dent in the frame and fairings

Brought my sprocketed down zx10r to the little track last season and was legit afraid to feed it in as it wanted to wheelie every time on the gas. Got myself a cheap zx6r for this season, but it still likely will be too much. Will see, cannot wait!

This is so cool! I've been on group rides with the previous owner of the battle toad! What a fun connection to the video! I see other comments petitioning for a restoration video dedicated to the battle toad and I agree!
