What a useful & informative discussion -- One of the best I've ever heard on the psychology of money. The language point for 1st Generation U.S. citizens is enlightening & the practical adjustments & policy observations surrounding adjusting environments are candid & smart. Making financial decisions up-front based on your "future perfect self" is genius. Looking back, when did that, it often saved me later. When didn't, got stuck with the real me for better or worse. Now, I better understand the "why" behind certain decisions & how to more constructively guide my own adult children.

My family had too much money and behaved horribly to each other over it. The abuse growing up was unending. It caused me to not want to have money as an adult. Im trying to shift my perspective because I dont accept a dime from them but am middle aged and have very little assets. I do need to let go of this negative association. It's hard!
