Im not sure if you will mention this in the future but communist Germany and stronger Soviet union could theoretically mean that the red guard can win the Finnish civil war. Without German support the white movement would be weaker and we could say that this time Communist Germany alongside the Soviet union could support Red guard even more. Of course communist Finland wouldn't be world changing but it could affect especially Soviet union and its border security paranoia. Great video and scenario as always, can't wait for more!

She actually was very much inspired by the 1905 revolution, and did wish to ally with Lenin and the Soviet Union, altough of course she did have her criticism of their tactics, but it wasn't anything theorethically distinct except maybe Luxemburg's position on the accumulation of Capital.

Many of the bolsheviks also looked to the German revolution as the 1st domino of the world revolution, since they are a massively industrialised advanced country rich with proletarians (and not peasants like Russia at the time). This is why when it was crushed, they were significantly demoralised and paranoid since they were completely isolated

This could have meant that the Germans and Russians can support the communist Hungarian government in its brief war against the little entante. Instead of the Romanian army successfully reaching Budapest, Romania may be carved up between Hungary and the soviet union and Transylvania would therefore likely remain under the Hungarians.

15:12 By that point Hyperinflation was unavoidable, Germany put itself in a lot of debt to pay for the war, so this combined with war reparations made printing money the only way to pay the debts. And like you said France would have ask for even more money in this timeline. Trade with the soviets would have done little to fix this and i don't think the workers controling the factories would have made them inmediatly thrive since many of the workers didn't have any leadership experience and would need to get used to the situation.

@rewriting-history Perhaps Soviet help can lesen the effects a bit but remember the Soviets also had their problems like the civil war and the economic distortions caused by war comunism.Only by 1922 could they actually start helping Germany. And taxes would help the government with its finances but not the economy since putting more fiscal pressure on an economy that is already in shambles after the war isn't going to be benefitial for it

@@andysierra1618 Actually it wasn't the reparations that caused the infamous hyperinflation of the Weimar Republic (mostly) but the dismanagement of the Weimar government to pay such reparations, recurring to methods like printing money like crazy.

I've never thought I'd say this, but this socialist version of Germany is actually pretty based. Its system is actually effective and isn't repressive like the Soviets. (As someone who likes multipolar timelines, I think it would be pretty interesting if Hitler's coups also succeeded alongside the Spartakists, causing the country to be split in half by the National Socialists and Spartakists.)

The "repressive" soviets were only that way because of the harsh russian conditions they have to deal with on top of the foreign interference, which led to a sort of "political evolutionary selection" and as they have been the only successful ones in our timeline, their model became hegemonic

Start a series 'What if XYZ dictator was a good leader.' In this series, the dictators mindset and ideologies should have been changed. Eg, if Hitler was good and didnt kill jews, slavs and other groups, they could have helped Axis win WW2. In that timeline no one would be good or bad just like in WW1.

@rewriting-history Fair, I wouldnt doubt it, Luxemburg makes a lot of criticism against Lenin and the Bolsheviks especially in some of her texts (Leninism or Marxism). But awesome video tho good job!

Cool video but I have 2 interesting scenarios for vids. What I bulgaria broke the chatalga line (idk how to spell it) and entered tsarigrad and also what if Austro-Hungary joined the second balkan war at the side of bulgaria opening a new front to serbia and romania and potentially earlier ww1

It should really just be called the German Soviet Republic, because if you directly translate the word Soviet in english (its a Russian word) it would translate to council, so German Council Council Republic, which doesnt quite make sense, therefor German Soviet (Council) Republic

@@rewriting-historyit SHOULD be called soviet republic a word can be orginated from diffirent language but soviet system is not entirely workers council system soviet system is marxist and leninist but the council system is one of the three leftcommunist factions it is german leftcommunism and often called council communism which is not leninist its only marxist great video tho i appreciate but dont forget they are internationals they are trying to spread revoulotion
