Money literacy has always been around but we haven’t been keen on consuming it. Since money is usually represented with numbers, people that naturally don’t like Maths shy away from learning and understanding it. There are indicators usually thrown around in our society which imply “money & facts about money” but very few people will naturally pick them up unless if the actual term “financial management” is mentioned. Money isn’t an easy topic to teach and learn also because it has tough (non common) terms around it that people find challenging to understand. Lastly, not everyone is meant to understand how their money works, etc resulting into hiring financial managers when they can afford.

I have been training people on financial management for a while now but most people do indeed hate anything about money conversations and actually, others regard them as being stingy and voracious.

As someone who has a complicated relationship with money I enjoyed this a lot. I have even talked about it on my socials so it's nice to see how other people feel. Mine is a blend of everything you all mentioned but leans more on the fear of lacking. Then the pressure to invest leaves me confused I end up not knowing which direction to move. I sure could use some money making (risk taking) lesson to make money work for me. That's the goal.

Enjoyed this conversation.. as a millenial myself i am having to teach myself alot of these things. You can only teach your kids what you know so excited for the next generation.. i just made a video on my own investment journey as a beginner investor.. mostly its exciting to finally know what stocks and shares really mean 😂 i highly recommend learning about these things asap.. do not be left behind.. attend the event if you're able

I don’t know who, but I recall attending a conference and a speaker stated, "nothing less than our health and happiness depends on reversing the innate notion that time is money. It's not. Money is time". It takes deep thinking to comprehend that those with audiences are "capable of twisting our thinking into Escherian stairwells to avoid uncomfortable or hard-to-accept truths".

Thank you beautiful ladies for this topic, I thought oba I'm unlucky coz I make money but I loose it in large sums but I'm still pushing and I'm addicted to self employment. I resigned ma job in 2018 but I have had downfalls and then stand again. Listening to Patrick Bitature and Hamis Kiggundu, this guy's books have helped me have the courage to take risks, reason as the world master piece and success and failure based on reason and reality. My relationship with money is tricky (on and off), one year I’m bad ass with investing, saving and management, the next I’m living my best life💃🏾 and spend all the savings. I save better when I have a goal and set a direct debit deposit that automatically deducts money for the goal from my account. Planning for money before you earn it also helps as it prevents accumulating dormant money that ends up being wasted.

I made money in my.early.20s I didn't known how to.keep it I would spend it. People.pleasing led me into debt. By the time I woke.up I was deeply in debt that it bothered me. So.currently am.paying off.debt. then we will start from there and that's wea we are now
