@@struckfluency It's a normal ps5 i dont have the pro or whatever it's called. I'm a PC gamer primarily anyways i just have a Ps5 for console exclusives i happen to want. And I did clean out the dust after the first time so not sure what's going on with it.

What a beatiful showcase of the weapon. I love how they made mighty charge combo from golf swing, spinning bludgeon and even the focus strike! Thats sick! Being able to hold back the golfswing for a while to time it better is also great! It feels more like a brawler weapon now with the combo's. Thanks for showing this!

Interesting to see you’re opting for the golf swing into mighty charge instead of Big Bang IV into mighty charge on wide openings. It seems it’s quicker, but I’d argue Big Bang does more damage ? Still unsure though. Anyway, loved to watch this, solid display of what the hammer is now capable of.

thanks! yeah I've always preferred the golf swing combo, and thankfully it actually has a place now in Wilds! Big Bang was definitely the go to for openings in World. But from my own experience in Wilds and watching other runs it seems big bang isn't used much. I'd imagine it's still worth it even if just for comboing BB 4 into mighty charge. Big Bang could also get buffed, and maybe it has better motion values that only make it "worth" using with stronger hammers in the full game. Mighty Charge is just really strong and quicker than the full BB combo

Is it better to go Wild Swing instead of Big Bang now? And by GOD i hope the Dash hook move is effected by Evade Distance.

honestly big bang feels a little weak/slow compared to other options. And the golf swing combo gets you to the mighty charge quicker. The mighty charge slam is really strong lol. Other hammer runs don’t seem to use big bang much either And yeah keeping sway (the dash hook) is suuuuuuper good, both for movement and i-frames. Hammer might not be as flashy as other weapons but damn the new changes for it are genius. So much fun

Honestly I was hoping Rey would be this menacing challenge that you can fight till later but always showing up and causing a mess but nope just a lightning lizard

I’m glad we could fight him in the beta! He can definitely stir up some trouble when fighting other monsters but he does kinda chill for the most part

I have a feeling they tuned him down to let players actually beat him but maybe not considering he has rarity 7 items

He’s the apex of his locale similar to rathalos and diablos so he’s not really meant to be a crazy challenge.

Rey Dau in the beta is probably comparable to Mizutsune in the Rise demo, if we get a beta at a later date which features Arkveld, that’s where I’d expect to see some difficulty

@@manlovetekken when riding around you can press X (or A on Xbox) to jump off, then in the air with hammer you can press the charge button to start charging in the air

Ohhhh my bad - that’s the sneak attack. You can run up to a monster when you’re not in combat with it and press circle for a sneak attack. You’ll see a prompt appear, it’s different for every weapon

Weapon balance leaves a lot to be desired. Some complete Rey Dau hunt in 6-7 min while others take 11-12.

that's how monster hunter always is though. it's not a competitive game. even when speedrunning you're really only concerned with hunt times of those using your same weapon. i will say some weapons don't feel as upgraded as others. some weapons like bow, LS, charge blade got a buuunch of new moves and combo loops, even new mechanics lol. then weapons like SnS and lance got scraps in comparison imo

There's a deep pit in my stomach seeing power charge gone. It was my absolute favorite part of hammer... Really don't like Mighty Charge, maybe I'll come around to it? (please capcom give us switch-skills so I can just go back)

It’ll take some getting used to for sure. I liked power charge as well but it’s nice not needing to refresh a buff whenever you get hit. Hammer has a really satisfying flow now with mighty charge, focus strike, and even spinning bludgeon. Feels like most of the moveset has a place which is great imo
