How would that Academy even work? You'd be training students in half Jedi, half Sith techniques. So are they gonna fall into the same trap the Jedi fell, or are they gonna be corrupted by the Dark Side first? Az I am in the same boat as you with the sequels! I enjoyed Force Awakens. Went to see TLJ in theaters and I remember leaving and driving home and thinking.... "Did I not like that movie?" Which I had never done to a Star Wars film. Got home, slept on it and woke up and was like yeah that was really bad.

I agree with you 100%. My own experience of TFA and TLJ was very similar to yours, except that I hated TLJ straight out of the cinema from the one and only time I ever polluted my brain by seeing that garbage. I never bothered watching 'The Rise of Palpatine' either, and never will, so a new Rey film being announced? That film's so DOA it's almost impossible to adequately articulate it! It will be about as popular as a Nursing Home visit by Harold Shipman.

7:30 That reminds me of my experience seeing KOTCS. I saw it with my wife, and told myself "no, this was good". She saw it for what it was right away, but I argued in its defense. But after a couple hours, all the holes started becoming more obvious. I happened to go see it the next day with other friends, and all the problems were laid bare, and I absolutely hated it. I've never seen it since. My wife still likes to bring up my initial reaction, I'll never live it down. Fast forward to The Last Jedi .... same damn thing happened, sigh. As fans, we so desperately WANT it to be good, but we also can't lie to ourselves.

An evil Luke Skywalker clone and/or ghost takes over the galaxy while Rey was in a coma. She wakes up and must find her old allies to create a new rebellion to overthrow him/it. Despite her never failing and always winning every fight it will still take whatever amount of time the writers want it to. She will also convince him to turn to the good side, before he kills himself teling her that she is the truest "Skywalker" of all!

The most the disney trilogy did for me as a star wars fan was to renew my interest in the E.U. aka Legends. I don't care in the slightest about what happens to Rey, Finn and Poe, but I absolutely want to know more and read about Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo, Lobacca, Tenel-ka Djo, Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn, Corran Horn, and an entire legion of characters more interesting than what the creatively bankrupt disney came up with.

Funny enough though it’s the main reason for discovering Mauler and the entire EFAP crew cause the breakdown of the Last Jedi got me into long reviews like that.

I saw the movie twice in theatres (I only paid once though, as a friend invited me for his birthday), and both times I didn't immediately hate it. I remember being disappointed in Rose's arc, hated Holdo, and thought the entire plot with Finn and Rose was completely pointless and preachy. Then again, I'm a filthy casual and hadn't rewatched The Force Awakens beforehand. And then somehow I came upon Mauler, Wolf, and Rags (before their EFAP days), and I slowly started to realize just how bad it was, and after Rise of Skywalker noted that it had zero impact on the story overall. When I told another friend about the criticisms people had with it, he was initially willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but after Rise of Skywalker he agreed that it was terrible.

I didn’t like it but I was willing to let it go because Luke Skywalker was in it and the movie was going to redeem him. I literally jumped up in my seat when he stepped out on Crait. And then I sunk back down when I realized he wasn’t actually there. I almost walked out of the theater but it was going to be over soon. Worst movie I have ever paid to see in theaters. It shattered my love for this franchise and it’s characters. I have never felt the same since
