Hi :) Reykholt is the first game i have illustrated. I would really appreciate to get some feedback from you. What you liked and even more important what you didn't like and why. Maybe i can get some knowledge from your feedback and use it for games i will illustrate in future. Have fun playing :)

I haven't yet seen the game in person, but from this video I can say that I VERY much appreciated the artwork in the game, with the muted earth tones giving the board and cards almost a look of canvas. Spectacular.

@@phantomcyrano i tried to give the painting a romantic kind of feeling while making it look traditional, glad you like it. :)

I haven’t seen it in person yet, but from the video it looks beautiful. I love the fact that there is no white space and the edge is really nice. Beautifully done👍🏻

A friend bought this purely for the beautiful box art. So there!

Compared to every other Rosenberg game, you knocked the artwork outta the park here 👍

I think he chose the village of Reykholt in island because it makes a pun with the french word "récolte" which means harvest and that's what you do in that game :p

I think at this point we all know what Rosenberg's favorite vegetable is... 😅 That said I like the look of this game. The production looks good, I love the artwork and since I'm introducing several newer people and families to the hobby, this looks like a great entry game into the mid-weight eurogame class after a few gateway games. I'll definitely be considering this for my young collection. Thanks for another great review Tom!

Another interesting tidbit: Loyang came out after Le Havre, but it was actually designed before Agricola!

First time I've been excited to play a game, because I've been to the location it's based off of. Reykholt and Flùdir nearby have amazing restaurants; if you are ever in Iceland I recommend the travel to there.

sicsided i was there in May as well, although Reykholt itself isnt a turist spot at all.

Was great fun to teach you, Eric and Jason this game at Essen. Glad you enjoyed it like I did. And yeah we were chatting about this after and we both shared the same criticism over the game which is the lack of variety from game to game bar the 5 cards. I wish you had more choices of cards to pick from.

A very easy expansion as they can just release a card pack like they did with Nusfjord

At 6:30, re: bonus action "but you always get to move one for free and you always get ONE vegetable of that type of moving" Is this a misstatement of the rules or a slip of the tongue? The rule book says you get as many vegetables of that type as are on that table. Other reviews seem to concur with the rulebook. I think it would be more frustrating to play if you only got one. Great video as usual Tom.

Really looking forward to this one. It fits perfectly into my collection. I already have tons of heavier games

This looks like it might be a great first worker placement game....I haven’t tried any worker placement yet and most of them seem so intimidating and complex. It’s one of my favorite things in video gaming though, so I imagine I would really enjoy it in tabletop gaming as well. I think illl give this one a try👍🏻

I really enjoyed playing this game. Played it 4-player. Doubt heavy gamers would love it. It's my speed bc it's not too complex.

Looks neat. Many people (myself included) thought this was going to be a Loyang replacement/killer/re-skin but it looks pretty different.
@JefferyHunt6 жыл бұрын
Chance Remmel it’s as Caverna is to Agricola, Reykholt is to Loyang. The scoring track is very similar tonLoyang but maybe a little nicer, and the green houses are exactly like the fields in Loyang. Loyang solves the replayability problem by being a card game (like Agricola) whereas the Reykholt is more like Caverna in that, while there’s not as much variation from game to game, it isn’t nearly as stressful. Loyang can be very stressful!

I'm Icelandic and I'm impressed how close you came to pronouncing Reykholt correctly! :) Be honest, somebody taught you how to say that, right? Seriously, the only think you could have done better is the L, which requires a sound that doesn't exist in English, so you came about as close as you could be expected to.

I'm pretty sure it's harder to grow mushrooms than carrots. But if Century can succeed without saffron being the most valuable, I can pretend carrots aren't 99c a bag. I'll probably play this.

The term "gateway" has lost all meaning. No one new to games would have any interest in this.

Unfortunately, boring. It seems to me that every game looks the same. It's not as good game as it could be.
