Thank you Anna for sharing your chess journey. Please don't be too down on yourself about your tournament play. Looking back at the rounds, I'd say the first three rounds had decisive outcomes. 1-The Cow player GM, 2-Twelve (or 13) year old, and 3- Fifteen (or 16) year old. The other remaining six rounds could have gone either win, lose or draw. In other words, you could have ended the tournament with 7 wins and 2 losses or just as easily 1 win and 8 losses. But you ended in the middle. That's the unpredictability of chess which makes it so exciting. As for the time trouble, I won't say "just move faster" as I know that's the last thing you want to hear. Instead, I'd say I hope you search and find the right balance of time management and yet keeping your ability to find the beautiful attacks and checkmates. If you watch any baseball, the comparison is like home run hitting vs high batting average. Often times, those who hit a lot of home runs also have a lot of strikeouts and a low batting average. The happy balance is somewhere in between. Have fun. Play chess 🙂.

I just want to say I love Pia's commentary and I hope she will do this more often. I love listening to her explaining and theorizing during the game, even if she misses a move being made! I did enjoy following along with Anna on this tournament and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her, hopefully she will gain more confidence with time and rating. We're here for it.

Anna has simply got to manage her time better. It seems like way too many games she gets a good/better position, spends 80% of her time on two or three moves, then quickly gets a worse position because she doesn't have enough time to think. It's easily her biggest weakness.

Thank you, GM Pia, for your amazing comments! Unfortunately, sometimes the best moves are so obvious that they are almost ignored, just like Qe4, that would make all the difference, but this happens even to the best. Thanks also, Anna, for sharing your chess experiences.

Anna - very good tournament. I've had last round exhaustion - you looked tired. Great fighting spirit gave you wins in round 7 and 8. Your speed chess looks awesome. Yes, enjoyed, and including your mom Pia Cramling commentary. She analyzes about 100 times faster than I ever did. a3 is a garbage opening. g6 almost refutes it, and has good practical results.

You are the player that stood in the Arena who has fought many great players whether you win or lose you is not as relevant as how you will pick yourself back up from the ground. it is how much you can take and how you will improve and move forward. So many players only care about their ratings and titles. But you are different because you have so much passion and you are such a exciting person I really enjoy listening to your adventures and journey's.. Always take time and realize how much you had learned from these championships.

Anna, once again, we appreciate your dedication to the chess grind and sharing your journey. These no-life’s in the comment will continue to talk their talk and of course will never, ever reach your level of accomplishment. Cheers!

What a game, what a tournament! Brilliant moves, some learning, 🐐🐐 gameplay and commentator. Best mods, producer and chat as always. 👍👍👍 and SUB on this channel, the clips, the spanish one and the main (so close to 1M subs). I skipped my class to see the end of the game 😅.

Far be it from me to offer advice to a great chess player like you, but I think you may have devoted too much time and energy in this tournament to matters unrelated to rest and preparation for your opponents. I realize streaming the tournament is important and everyone loves your doing that, but I’d forego the recaps (they seem redundant when your Mom is providing live analysis) and I’d see if I could delegate tech issues. I think you’d be much more rested, prepared and therefore confident. You’re a great chess player, Anna, but I think your time and energy in this tournament went in too many directions. That said, your fighting spirit in game 8 was awesome. Just some friendly advice…

I think the same as you do @AndrewBrophy-Romans8.1. She needs to rest more at these tournaments.

She is now a serious business. She’s making $10,000’s out of streaming these tournaments. She already uses technical staff but she sells it by her presence and commentary.

@@AlanTov Ok, I was talking strictly about her chess, though what I was talking about is obviously affected by the crass stuff you’re talking about.

Tbh honest it’s her job and how she maintains a lifestyle. I guess it’s all about balance. She probably thinks now is the optimum time to make money - many watch her because she’s young and attractive. (That is crass)

@AndrewBrophy-Romans8.1 2 ай бұрын
@@AlanTov I agree Anna’s attractive, but that’s not why I watch her videos; if she were rated under 2000, I wouldn’t watch her videos. And I have to think she cares more about her results in tournaments than you seem to be implying.

He was way too confident because he played against your Anna-bot before the time and learned what you would play and how to win you. Simple. Now you know. Looking forward to the day when you are GM

Very disappointed in Anna’s play. If she were making correct moves after she took all that time then taking that much time would be justified, but she’s not. Anna, please do yourself a favor and get some help regarding your perfectionist paralysis.
@AndrewBrophy-Romans8.1
@AndrewBrophy-Romans8.1 2 ай бұрын
Speaking generally and not trying to be an armchair psychologist, but I think “perfection paralysis” is due to lack of confidence - the idea someone feels they won’t be able to recover from even a minor slip and therefore must play perfect moves every time.
@delturge
@delturge 2 ай бұрын
@@AndrewBrophy-Romans8.1If "perfection paralysis" is a thing for Anna, it could be simply environmental. The statistical analysis of games that the chess websites do is not something players of the past would have had access to--and definitely not instantaneously. The "data driven chess player" is a relatively new animal. Trying to emulate the results of software takes too long for most humans to do. That Anna comes close to this sometimes is almost miraculous, but a problem in classical chess, it seems. Classical chess, where there is more physical and mental strain, interactivity, and environmental factors (light, sound, smells, touch .... taste?) to contend with. Solution? Play longer games and do not do game reviews on-line. Well, do them, but don't do them intentionally for some days? Re-condition yourself to being happy with the decisions that you make. Thus, the issue in my eyes is not confidence. It is the desire to be happy, but let happy be the end result, not each move. However, I am with you. I cannot offer psycho-analysis or chess advice with any deep level of credibility. A simple answer would be to play more over the board games.

I hope she learns from this. Time is her problem once again and again and again. You would think someone would learn from this. She is way better than she has proven this tournament. Less time in begin/middle game means more time in the end game where she needs it.

The ratings are fairly objective (that’s the point). They average out good and bad tournaments, blunders, different competitor performance.

I ve identify the anna s problem in this tournament she plays solids but no agressivity on King side corner and i can say also, may be the problem of anna is after or during the opening she plays to classical and after she is not in good position in a middle of the game . So my suggestion is , may be anna have to be more tricky at the begin of opening ? Peace and love from France to anna s team
