Bright Line Eating

Күн бұрын

Once in a while, I get really up close and personal with a vlog. This is one of those weeks. So if you’re looking for straight-up weight-loss tips, this week’s vlog isn’t it. If you love the personal stuff, the stuff that gets deep and gritty and super-revealing, then this one’s for you. And of course, this vlog has lessons for your Bright Line Eating journey (and they’re not insignificant ones). It isn’t just about food around here. Often, we eat because of how we’re living our lives. This week’s vlog is an inside look at my life right now, and the take-home lesson is valuable for most anyone who has struggled with food.

Thank you for your transparency and for being so raw and real. I don’t think too many people are as brave as you are when it comes to transparency. It just shows how committed and how selfless and sacrificial you are to the cause. Changing lives through putting a STOP to food addiction. This was stellar. Much respect for you. Christina

Oh my God!!! I loved the message in this so much!! I have been in tears the past few days because I do everything and I do mean everything for my husband! In addition to my husband I am supporting my daughter emotionally and financially. No one ever reaches out to me unless they need something. I just want someone to care about me for just a minute. I come from a family like Davids where everyone had a lot going on and I had to handle my own life and learned from an early age to keep my needs to myself. I don't know what to do anymore. I am tired and just want everything to stop.

SPT, I admire your vulnerability, your realness, your honesty, your willingness to share which allows others to grow. There's a lot in here - Nonviolent Communication, IFS Parts, 12 step groups, the power of recovery, the impact of being spiritually centered, clear communication, relationships, codependency and so much more. And yup, all of this impacts what, where and when I put food in my mouth. Highly recommended video. I was moved seeing how moved you were as you spoke about these very intimate topics. Thank you. ❤️

I opened this video because I wanted to get inspired by one of the BLE vlogs.. BUT... I've just not only got inspired, but moved to tears, deeeeeply shaken with your authenticity and honesty.. . Susan, what you've been doing is so true, so powerful and so helpful! And now I know why - you have that beautiful connection with the Source, and I'm going to stick to you and follow your example. You are such a beautiful soul and I'm so grateful I've found you and I'm trying by best in the Boot Camp and in my life. Thank you from all my heart!

This lovely vlog reminds me of the common "spoilt outing" phenomenon: you take your kids out for a wonderful day, lavish them with attention, everyone has fun, then on the way home some huge upset or fight, tears or tantrum erupts, often over something trivial. The closeness and attention during the day has built up enough connection and safety for feelings your children have been sitting on to bubble up to the surface - their subconscious is hopeful that there is enough clarity around for these feelings to be expressed and resolved. If you can stay present and relaxed at those times, not erupt into reactive or punitive anger, and listen well and thoughtfully, such times can be a wonderful opportunity for healing and growth. Of course, you have to have your own tank full to be able to stay present and be thoughtful. Well done Susan, for showering David with closeness and attention, which allowed space for his suppressed resentment to bubble up. Well done for staying present and sovereign and setting clear boundaries when that resentment erupted as anger. Well done for your thoughtfulness and clarity around the healing that needed to take place. Well done for keeping your tank full. I think especially women, and especially mothers, need to be reminded that acts of self care are not selfish, they are acts of generosity towards everyone in our environment, who will all benefit from us having a full tank.

Ohhhhh my, Susan. Thank you for sharing. I think this resonates with more people than you'd think. You're in a position to reach many,...and you're using this ability, Exactly as God would have you do. Keep listening to that "God voice"😊 The closer you listen,...everything will iron itself out. You and David are two wonderful people, Learning a lot together. As long as you don't forget to communicate in the Spirit of love, and honesty and tenderness toward each other, everything will work out! You two will be a fortress, and a force to be reckoned with. And both receiving what each needs to be happy in this life. You'll learn on a deeper level what each other's "creature comforts" are. And will make the effort to facilitate those things, out of a deeper love for each other... Yes, the vulnerability is appreciated.❤️❤️❤️ We all can learn something from each other!

I’m coming to this blog some time after it was posted, but thank you so much Susan. I had not seen the line between me being a support person, going above and beyond etc etc etc as many partners, mothers do; with then turning to food for relief- my ‘me time’ I suppose. But I also get that I am accountable for my choices- if I don’t set boundaries or speak up then that is indeed on me. I want to have clean, bright lines across all of my life Thank you again for this sharing

Your honesty and integrity right down to challenges in your marriage makes us see a real person SPT. We thank you for this as it highlights difficulties we experience in our marriages. Food addiction for comfort relief, it is a disease of codependency. Very damaging, thank you. Lots of love, from Naomi Susan (too) Baatjes from South Africa. Yes, Susan, you are married to an amazing man, who is willing to think about what you have said and is willing to grow and change. I was very happy to see, at the end, that you were--together--able to identify that the things you were doing to focus on each other and your marriage had gone by the wayside and that you have come to a renewed commitment to those things that keep your relationship strong. We, out here in BLE-land, root for your marriage to remain strong and healthy, so keep hanging in there and working out those kinks! Thank you both for a very relevant vlog post!

Wow, can’t tell you how much you sound like me and your husband like mine. I recently realized my husband has OCPD. Finally it has helped me to understand him and he just can’t change..... maybe smooth his edges. It helps me....... just understanding that. He has zero boundaries and even after a lengthy 3 month study on them just doesn’t get it. He loves and adores me. After 39 years of marriage, 4 daughters, 15 grandchildren. I think I am finding my healthy food boundaries. Great video..... thankful you are real.

Beautiful! So real and transparent. You have no idea the impact you have made today with your honesty and vulnerability. David seems like a prince and like so many men find it difficult to express how they really feel. You gave him the opportunity to learn how to do that, and it's okay. The best blog yet because it speaks about real life and how it affects how we deal with our emotions. And who can best show us the better way than the teacher!

Oh they do mean and will not stop to cease meaning that women's "role" is the well known "home one". It's convenient. It is the nature of their energy. There's nothing wrong with hiring help. It's better to use someone's talents for what they are talented for, rather then housejobs.
