This came out on November 27, 1985, a Wednesday. I saw this in the theater, that weekend, specifically Saturday the 30th. The line was literally around the entire building for Christ's sake and I think the previews really generated such interest. When people realized from the previews that Drago killed Apollo, it generated A LOT OF INTEREST. Everyone wanted to see how Rocky would respond. I have NEVER seen an audience react the way it did during this movie, EVER and I'm a movie guy. When Rocky hits Drago and cuts his right eye, a solid 10-15% of the audience (if not more) literally rose out of their seats, people were cheering and clapping, and a host of "Yeah!" and other expletives were being shouted. Just typing this in gives me goosebumps remembering it. One of the best movie moments in my life. And for you young ones out there, look at Drago, one of the most underrated antagonists EVER. Dolph Lundgren played it PERFECTLY. While a lot of other men auditioning for the role played it up like another Clubber Lang/Mr. T, Dolph was smart enough to realize that HIS way was infinitely better. The theme? Listen up kids...WHEN YOU ARE TRULY A BADA$$, YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY A WORD, PEOPLE WILL KNOW. His NON-VERBAL communication was 100x more powerful than spouting off like an idiot. Without saying anything, he's communicating, "F-off, you have no hope." I've seen this unfold an uncountable number of times in both the business world, as well as just direct personal observations.
