Alona Zahreba made a video diary of life in the besieged Ukrainian port, showing how they gathered snow when water was cut off and smoke rising from nearby explosions. She spoke to Current Time about what life was like in Mariupol, and how she and her family escaped.

SOS from Russia: Joe Biden betrays Ukraine for he refuses to close the sky. Every day brings new victims. FORCE NATO to CLOSE the SKY OVER UKRAINE. This is the only way to stop Putin. Otherwise, you will be the next victim of his aggression! Putin is a WORLDWIDE CRIMINAL but don't be afraid of a nuclear strike from his side - he cannot do it alone, and the top militaries around him have families and want to live. It's just a threat on his part. He uses your fear to prevent military aid to Ukraine. BY NOT CLOSING the SKY OVER Ukraine NATO becomes an ACCOMPLICE of Putin's CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

@@vz5077 Sir, I am from Bulgaria, and here the fear of the Russians is so unbearable just now... We are already afraid, that nothing can help against them - they once, in the totalitarian communist rule here, took away the belief in God from us, the Bulgarians, that now we are getting it back from their cruelty on the poor Ukrainians... Those saints, whose land is just rich in natural resources... Many Russians, who married in Bulgaria in the past 75 years now are assuring us, that Russia will hit just Ukraine and this war, it will never reach Bulgaria, but we are now only praying to God, since our army is scarce in our own times in NATO, so God help the whole if Europe against Russia - I say it, may say it, - because against Russia there was never any hope on this continent, they are imperialists too, not just the USA, who are as well colonially oriented

Your rant about big bad Russian wolf sounds paranoid and your prayers to God or grass or whatever sound childish. As your Russian friends have told you, the Russian military has no bone to pick with Bulgaria or other European countries (altho tbh, even to a pacifist like me it feels like at some point we should make all of your assholes pay for sanctions and weapons you send to Ukraine, turning a local conflict between neighbors into a worldwide disaster. Have you send any military help to Afghanistan or Syria or Lybia of Iraq? Aren't you afraid of 'those terrorists'? Your pathetic double standards are eye-opening, to say the least). The bottom line, sir, is that nobody is coming after you, and you ought to stop spreading paranoia. Oh and Russia doesn't need Ukraine's resources; it has its own👌

@@vz5077 it's an expression, a generally understood statement to wish people well. It is not always literal or exactly religious. It means we want them protected, hope they are safe, and sympathize with how scary this is for them, and how very dangerous. Don't you? Where are you, VZ? 96 people understood when I said it & 105 when Jim did, and thousands & thousands more on other comments like this. Some people say it devoutly and some say it in a secular manner but we don't really have another way to say it with such a clear intent. If you have a problem with people speaking their own way that's on you. If you think we're blaming anyone but Putin and invading soldiers, or politics, we're not. & No one paying attention to human flaws thinks everyone on earth is doing right instead of wrong, listening to a higher power or consciousness or caring what is forbidden. We know plenty of people ignore laws, morals, spiritual teachings, religious and social taboos... & freewill exists & many exercise that in atrocious ways. Get off the soapox if you're on one. This is not the place for that. Argue theology elsewhere. This is about the bravery of a child & it is not right to nitpick how people show their empathy and hopes that all of them somehow become safe and are not too emotionally scarred by this or killed. People of all kinds of beliefs and lack thereof are saying it, bc we hope they are protected. That's it. You are welcome to your beliefs & you are not welcome to interrogate others on theirs nor to make this about yourself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with expressing empathy. (VZ also demanded I explain my comment "Blessings to Ukraine!💙💛🇺🇦," asking exactly what I meant by it! This is where I realized it was meant as argumentative. I find that an inappropriate thing to complain about under the circumstances especially. So....)

@@TrueNicomus One thing that the world has learned about Putin and Russia over the last 20 years is that everything that Putin and Russia says are lies. The lies are not even very good lies. They are obvious and blatant lies and would be considered to be ridiculous if their purpose was not so sinister and evil. Russia will never be trusted again. So, please stop with your attempts to distort reality. The days of Putin's lies are numbered. Ukraine is now one big crime scene. The world will remember and denounce the crimes and atrocities of Russia forever like the war crimes of Hitler are remembered and denounced. She always taught me to be decent and humble, not to act against weaker and minorities, not to waste food or things. Our doors should be open to fill this beautiful young mind with so much love that it smothers the images of her past with a world at her feet to grasp... The world is yours young lady, I see a very powerful and valuable woman of the Ukraine to be very proud of now and in the future., I wish for a horizon, for you to see how far and wide your story is told. For you to sit with only the stars above, a fire beside you, perhaps the love of a Border Collie by your side. An ocean before you and a breeze that fills the sails of your imagination. Many like me would take you there to allow nature to regain your trust, and perhaps meet the elders of Australia. Young lady, sweet young mind, believe not what the brochure tells you, and seek the wisdom of those who bear no fortresses in their history. Then in the very little most of us are granted in the democratic world, a smart and creative girl like you will find 100% of herself in the little we have left of democracy to call truly free. Even as that small window of opportunity for ALL OF US gets smaller, do not forget they are old and grey like me and we won't be around for much longer and this is your world not the people that think run it. I pride myself on having paid taxes to build roads and hospitals, politicians think they are above the greed of man and they are not... Yet every now and then the world gets lucky and shows us a leader who's not fearful of a bully because he knows the consequences. Look at the young lady taking control at the end, and the fool who thought he could bully a peaceful giant. That little man who thinks he rules the world with violence... watch what happens. It's the girl standing watching, wait until the end, she's like a Ukrainian and doesn't run away but stops more violence.. SLAVA UA. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWi3iqVqhauEfc0

I suppose, then, that the testimonies of Donbass Ukrainian civilians being shelled by the Ukrainian government since 2014 are fake then, are they? I think they would beg to differ.

For one second we hear the happiness of an innocent child when she mentions the little snowman. Children should be making snowmen not scraping up snow so they can have a simple drink of water. There is something in the world called kharma, good comes to good and bad comes to bad. The Russians are amassing an enormous kharmic debt, their soldiers are paying some of that debt right now. But more will come home to them. That a little child is forced to endure this, that she is forced to see her father bloodied by Russian attacks, and so much more is a crime against humanity.

Uhty pukhty... answer me - do you think that it is normal to place multiple launch rocket systems among residential quartools? this is unacceptable - that's why civilians are dying. at the very beginning, you can hear the work of the MLRS - which shoots for 15 or more kilometers. and this cannot be heard from the area where the missiles arrive - these volleys are fired from courtyards. what do we have in the end? here is such a family and a girl that you all feel sorry for. the US and Ukrainian authorities have succeeded in fooling you. bravo!
