To read between the lines. Believe me, if they are ukranians, they would've said lot of bad things about russians, as you can see in other places. Not just russians. Right now, Russia is flattening parts of Ukraine. As of a few days ago, the number of civilian deaths are over 6,700. And they suspect the number is a lot higher because of not being able to get into Mariupol, they're still finding bodies and civilians are still dying every day. . More soldiers, ukrainians and volunteers, have died this year than they did in the eight year conflict total. But let's get back to civilians. Back in 2014 and forward, there were a lot of civil unrest and violent protests. Buildings were set on fire by protesters, but for the most part things weren't being bombed from the air. There was a time when Russia cut short the gas pipeline before it bombed and then was restored. There was never a shutdown of water and electricity. No one was blowing up hospitals, schools and apartment buildings. That was all Russia this year. I don't know if you've seen an aerial photo of Bakhmut, or Mariupol this past spring, but those cities are leveled like Hiroshima. So save your snark.

It's always hard to evacuate some people from places they really shouldn't be for their own good. Same thing the world over & it seems to be mostly the elderly. In the US when you have a hurricane there will always be those intending to go no where. And all ages. So far none (that I know of) are forced to leave. What a wonderful bunch of people! That amazing woman full of energy, supporting the evacuation efforts. The young firefighter with that look of resolution on his deep blue eyes and the will to keep working on the area. The 12 years old boy whose amazing mother is keeping him not minding where his next meal will come from, allowing him to channel his thoughts towards a tablet PC instead. The amazing polish volunteer, who travelled a couple thousand Kms to rescue people and have humanity enough to bring to safety a kitty from the front. Such wonderful, amazing people, facing such heinous, atrocious pieces of shit, pedophiles and murderers who are attacking their enviroment just 5 kms away. I wish life, happiness and joy to the first group of people, and such a lingering, gruesome death to the second one that their relatives will grind their teeth when they hear about their demises.

It is especially pitiful that the Ukrainian civilians who don't leave towns and cities under fire seem to be either impoverished, alone with no one to count on, or have nowhere to relocate to. Some just seem resigned to live and die where they are. I see a mixture of thick-skinned stoicism learned under the Soviets and spit-in-your-eye defiance of the Ruz.

Pro Russian citizens should not be forceable removed as Ukraine moves East. Ukraine has won and the rights of people to choose should be respected. Even if they are mislead by Russia it's their decision.

Many in west says that if Putin goes the war elwill stop. To them I would say, Putin is much moderate. After Putin there will be much hardliner leader to take his place. So try to negotiate with Putin and end this war. War is never an option,

Sorry, but war is the "option" Putin chose, on the assumption that Joe Biden would be as much as a pushover in Ukraine as he was in Afghanistan. Unfortunately for Putin, he didn't reckon on the resolve of the Ukrainian leadership, the fierceness of Boris Johnson, or the willingness of the former Soviet satellites of eastern Europe and Scandinavia to step up to the plate for Ukraine.

@@RichardTaylor1630 read properly. Putin did not choose the war,but was pushed to corner, to retaliate back. It was US and NATO who played game with Minsk agreement.
