RFI Ep. 341: Hazael & Asgard

I'm pretty sure I can tell who the favorite was this time around, but I actually really dug what I heard of Asgard. That little grouping of bands that can somehow shoot from intense brutality, to displaying consummate melodic prowess, to spastic dissonant chaos in mere seconds always scratch an itch that nothing else can. If you know of any more bands that fit well into that early Kataklysm style, let me know, because I've been going down a rabbit hole of that kind of stuff lately. Great stuff as per usual! Your last Vader album is my first time hearing Hazael and yeah, you totally nailed it. Just instant caveman grunts of satisfaction from that Pride A Morphis riff.

I remember Matt who owns Dark Descent evangelizing for that album for years before he even reissued it, and I had to get it as soon as I saw that cover. He also was big on that second Amon Goeth album, which is how I got into them and a lot of the other Czech black metal stuff.
