This is a vital conversation. It's time to support small businesses and creativity. In my area, all small business is being forced out or bought out by mega corporations but they're keeping the small company names to fool consumers. Grrr
@dao8805Ай бұрын
Spot on. This issue of small businesses being bought out by large corporations and continuing to operate under the guise of being an independent small business is part of the private equity take-over that RFK Jr has talked about putting an end to. It's another example of how he was the only presidential candidate truly looking out for We The People. We NEED RFK Jr as our next president and I earnestly hope the MAGA supporters see that and support him in 2028.

Trump or his supporters don't seem to know that these private companies are behind gov corruption. All I hear them say is the same tired big gov nonsense. Small businesses have diametrically opposing needs of these companies. Trump's biggest donors, like Thiel, are monopolists. They want to own all markets.

Lloyd Chapman's account vividly illustrates the harsh reality facing America's small businesses. The fact that massive corporations are securing public contracts originally meant for small enterprises reflects a troubling breakdown in fairness. I firmly believe that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Yet, this conversation reveals just how deeply regulatory capture and corporate lobbying have become entrenched in the system. What will it take for small businesses to reclaim their rightful place? This is not merely an economic issue; it is a fundamental challenge that compels us to reflect on the core values of our society.

There’s a real simple solution to the issue of large businesses not paying taxes. Eliminate the current tax structure and go with an across the board flat tax. Then make that flat tax small enough that people will be on board for it. Go for a simple one percent on all earnings. Regardless. No more deductions.

I have been a fan for many years, as I learned all about these things after I was injured with Lymerix which was taken off the market for “lack of sales”, but it was actually because it was fast tracked and bad safety study results were ignored. All for money-it ruined my life. 24 years of chronic untreatable fibromyalgia/chronic Lyme. It’s criminal and yet nobody pays for ruining our lives. Watch Under Our Skin for the story of all the conflicts of interest with it. I feel sorry for those injured by the EU biologic. I know from experience. I’d like to see the small town America breathing again. I think it would bring a bit of balance in our culture. Good talk! AI is inevitable, to suppress it is to suppress technological advancement/progress. We really need to modernize our laws/regulations and prepare for the future as jobs are being replaced. The execution is complex, but the solutions are extremely simple - Universal Basic Income being one of those blatant stepping stones. People are worried about AI/Robotics replacing all of their jobs, while simultaneously people don't want to work anymore (mundane jobs and current systemic economic structures are meaningless). The 2 main reasons everyone is worried about AI is because money is attached to literal survival (food, water, housing, electric, etc.), and then people are socially conditioned into their jobs being their entire identity (people passing away when they retire is an example). Humanity is meant for greater things. AI/Robotics has been coming for a long time, and it's something people have been asking to be prepared for in advance before it becomes more of a problem. What's preventing progression is bureaucratic shenanigans, archaic mindsets still running in positions of power, and industries/elite fighting to maintain their power/control over others by keeping everything the same ruling with fear, while they trickle down tech, monopolize, and lobby for anti-civil-rights policies. Buckminster Fuller has an excellent few quotes about how we have long been capable of taking care of everyone, and turning weaponry into "livingry", and not forcing labor on new generations for survival. We can do this without becoming another "ism", but moving forward and taking the best of what we've learned to create something new entirely.
@DawnLowery-or8seАй бұрын
@@willfullyinformed I’d prefer universal luxury income myself. I saw musk mention this as a possibility. I can personally imagine even cottage industries such as a bakery and a humanoid robot 🤖 helping a small town baker in his bakery . I’m excited about the future possibilities.
