Love to see what people are running on their realistic builds. Not tub converted to tray, chopped single cab, integrated roof tent into the chopped roof crazy builds. I think we all love to see those to see what's possible. But not many of us are going to be doing that to our personal riggs. I know my f150 has started its upgrade path. But it will end up being similar to this rig in the video. Just a bit bigger with 35 inch tires on it.

It is a great vehicle. This model was sold in Mexico for the year 2014 under the chevy brand and it is great until you get to the engine. It only came with the gasoline V6 or the galoline L4 engines. The V6 makes some power, but it has a lot of problems. The transfer box is great (I have the electronic activated transfer). It engages no matter what and works like a dream unless you forget to have the same tire size in the front and in the rear, but that is on me (my father actually). About the engine, It broke on us at the 200,000 km mark. The fuel pump died and once we got it to the shop we told them to adress an oil leak. Well, the engine had to e rebuilt cuz crankshaft metals were destroyed (it was due to a bad engine design). But other than that and the lack of aftermarket support I really love the truck. I would love to get a lift and run a set of 265/70 r17 or a set of 285s, but in this side of the world it is a pain to get specialty parts. I really dont want to run spacers to get a lift and fit those wheels. Well, nothkng else to say besides the fact that I love your build and it is great to see someone with access to the parts and stuff we dont get in here. Lots of potencial

Doesn't matter if you go out with other people, you should have a winch. Two is one and one is none. Relying on someone else's winch to get you out is a real good way for Murphy's Law to kick in and leave your rig stranded. Get a winch, friend. You'll never be mad that you had it.
@phs847 жыл бұрын
Charles Eye Yup, don't rely on other people's gear also on numerous occasions other 4wds have not been able to get back to where the stuck vehicle is located. Winch fitted to 4wd is the only option unless you carry a hand winch
@Technoplasm7 жыл бұрын
i think they mean that you can use a recovery strap instead
@TheCharleseye7 жыл бұрын
Technoplasm To use what phs84 said, you can't always count on someone being able to get into where you are. You could carry half a dozen straps to give you reach but that won't help if the other truck has problems or simply can't get positioned to pull you right. A winch is important for anything more than Sunday driving on dirt roads.

GM owned 50% of VM Motori, which they acquired from Penske. They later sold their share to Fiat which had acquired the other 50%. They build the engine in their own plant in Thailand. The use of the VM Motori in Jeeps would also date to when Daimler Chrysler owned 49% (prior to GM and Fiat).

I am curious why Holden didn't give you guys the ZR2 option with front and rear lockers? here in Canada, All ZR@ come standard with the lockers
@SuperRandykid10 ай бұрын
5 years late with a reply. The ZR2 3.5" track increase goes outside the maximum track change limits under our design regulations (ADRs). manufacturers are only allowed a variation of +/-1" from the base specs for the platform/facelift, so basically OEM can switch between skinny steel stock wheels or alloys with wider rubber across various models and still be covered by the ADRs for the ZR2 to be legal in australia it would have to be re-complianced as its own platform with a seperate name/code. aftermarket, we can go 25mm wider again than the paper spec for a particular model, or we can go balls out and run -44 offset rims and pray we dont get a pulled over by the police and get a vehicle defect notice 😅

@@alexcartwright6361 The Holden (aka GM) Colorado already uses the VM2.8; and is built in Thailand (the engine is built there as well under license from VM). GM owns 50% of VM, the rest owned by Fiat now. Looking under the hood of the Colorado ute you will find a Duramax engine cover over the same VM engine that currently appears in the export models of the JK and JKU CRDs. Now Holden is launching a seven seat SUV in the Australian market (based on the Colorado chassis) that will also carry the VM 2.8 (Duramax). The engine continues to be well regarded by the reviewer and journalists, and replaces (in the Australian market) the older D-MAx engine in the other badge brand the Izusu trucks - which continue to sell the old motor.

Ow yeah they make cool stuff! No doubt! look at Duccati motor bikes! race it for a year while parts fall off now and then and electric issues occur regularly. However if you wanted to do a world tour get something else :) Same might go for a landrover (if your not DIY), quality is not like others however (and thats a plus for LaRo) if can be repaired with minimal means (note: no intend to start a brand war, big LaRo fan myself and in the process of restoring a 1980 series III 109.) it would be cool if one could measure how many 25+ year old Alfa Romeo cars are still daily drivers in a % of the number sold in these days. Compare that to volvo's, toyota'sm honda's and all others. (btw. Land Rover scores good on this one as most are rebuild over and over)
