RG3 and Redskins 2012 Highlights

Damn, got chills watching this. I remember back in 2012 when I watched this season develop, I thought there was nothing RG3 couldn't do. This team was beastly in their 7 game win stretch to make the playoffs and win the NFC East. For once as a Redskins fan when my friends came up to watch games I didn't have to doubt if they were going to win. It was just like I knew already even when they were trailing in games.Three years later and now it's like this never even happened. If only they could return to this type of play. One can wish. +Taylor Bivens I hate to say this, as RGII was my hero in 2012, but we have to trade him. Its whats best for RGIII, maybe he can get a fresh start and bring his 2012 season back with another team, however it just is not possible with the redskins. We are ruining his career.

Zach Eisenhour It's painful, but it's time to accept that 2012 RGIII is history. It's great history, and it'll be a part of DC sports lore for decades, but that was a different RGIII, plain and simple. Griffin may still have a cannon for an arm, but his legs will never be healthy enough to run the ball as effectively as he did in 2012. He's too fragile, and if he tries to play that way again it will just cut his career short. If Griffin ever becomes great again, it will be as a pocket passer, and he has to get much better at reading a defense and making the right calls to do that. 2012 was great but unsustainable; what we need is something that will last.

So, I admit I left the Washington fanbase when it became clear the name was going to be changed. But I come back ever so often to remember the year and REDSKINS team that made me an avid NFL fan. I grew to love this organization once I read and watched everything I could about the Redskins. Never did that for any team before that. Almost been a decade since this happened. Did it really just fly by like that? I loved the Washington Redskins during the 5 years I was a fan. I'd still be a die hard if people had just left the team alone. HTTR!

Had the Redskins had competent management or talent evaluators, they would have kept their draft picks and taken Russell Wilson. He was every bit as good as Griffin plus played against tougher defenses in the Big Ten. One of the worst trades in the history of the draft.

This season,2012 winning the division,was also satisfying by beating the Dallas Cowboys twice.The first one on Thanksgiving Day down there,and the last game of the season was for the division title and Skins beat Cowboys 28-18.Skins did beat the Giants twice who went on to win the Super Bowl .

The offensive line was blocking that year.Alfred Morris got 200 yards against Dallas and was second in the NFL in rushing.I just can't explain last year.

That 2nd Dallas game was really something. Morris just ran it right down their throats. One of the most satisfying victories I've seen from the Skins in quite a while. They also had Seattle on the ropes in the wildcard, but RG3 could barely walk, and eventually that cost them the game.

The Giants won the Super Bowl in 2011.It was the Baltimore Ravens who won the Super Bowl in 2012.That was a great come from behind with Kirk Cousins replacing RGIII and scored the two point conversion to tie and then win in OT. Skins also beat the Pack in 2010 who won the Super Bowl that year.

Garland English It's beginning to look like this year is going to be a repeat of last year, except without the excuses. . .RG3 didn't play badly, but he sure didn't look like he used to his rookie year. I was hoping if nothing else, he (RG3) would be back to 'normal', his normal dynamic exciting old self. He looked nothing like that, and it worries me greatly. I cannot figure it out. Even if the team lost, if he played well, that's something that you can build on. Looks like it' gonna be another long year, lol. I hope I'm wrong (sigh).

Chris Kavanagh I don't know what to expect. They want RGIII to be a pocket passer more than a runner.He did get hurt by running the ball a lot,but that's his style.That's what earned him the Heisman Trophy at Baylor.I just hope he can adjust to that and take off when he has to.They hit a lot harder in the NFL.The defense didn't look bad.The offensive line needs to block better.

TBH this was a matter of when and not if. He never had the presence of a pocket, relying on the scheme and his legs. When both ran their course, the game was over. Its up to him to learn how to play the QB affectively from the pocket

This was our biggest offseason ever imo. We got the best GM, the best O-line coach in Bill Callahan, rg3 has the full off-season to work with his offense, no injuries or adjustments to a new playbook, we're stacked at the corner position, linebacker position, and D-line position. Idk about safeties though. Not jinxing it but Redskins could be the dark horse in 2015. We also had a great draft.

I'm a big RGIII fan and wish him well in Cleveland but you don't have a solid understanding of what happened here if you blame Jay Gruden. We never got 2012 RGIII again because he was hurt and because he didn't want to play that way any more. He wanted to be a pocket passer and he didn't want to be the mobile guy that the Shanahan brothers built that offense for. It was crystal clear.

Rg3 can work on his qb macanics, something he could do last offseason because he was regabing his knee. We still have alfred morris and Pierre gracon, who lead the league in receptions with 113. The Redskins dont suck. Especially if youre a fan of another team in our division you shouldnt even talk because the Skins handed an ass whooping that year. The only reason why they did bad last year was of course RG3 injury and Mike Shanahans decision to change the offensive scheme to pocket pass. They started off pretty bad which is also why they ended bad. Just like how the broncos started bad in the Superbowl and ended bad. But this year I hope the Skins get things together and bring us another 10-6 or better. Especially since we have DeSean Jackson now :) HTTR

Newly revamped O-line and better defense will help RG3. It not like Russell Wilson did what he did on his own. Mostly Defense and Lynch. RG3 has had a garbage O and D line. He was wooping on SEA until he went down in the playoff game. RG3 will rise again, Sherff and Williams will be nice bookends on the O-line. Hopefully our newly built defense will gel quickly and become dominant.

Well they have the core of that team plus some good additions, so hopefully they will have a good season. We all know it's going to come down to RG3 ad how well he plays. This pre-season he didn't look to damn great, looks as though his confidence isn't back yet, He needs that swagger to play well. I think it'll take some time in this new offense before he gets it back.
