Got my RGB10 Max (1?) last week. A €110 device that comes loaded with thousands of games including all my childhood favorites, would have died for that as a kid. And it's a nice device: a good screen, decent buttons, doesn't feel cheap at all. Been a nostalgia trip. Managed to finish Asterix on the Master System thanks to the fact that I can now save my game :) Up next: Chrono Trigger, never played that one before!

As wgc once said, the manufacturers are actually listening to the imput from journalists and testers, only thing is those journalists are based in East Asia, where the majority of their sales go (and where only morons pay for software). Making a good quality image is actually hard and time consuming, with some of the best rpi images taking their creators years to perfect. How much longer is the wait? and update when you decide if you like the product or not. I was thinking about either v90, q90, q20 mini or a66 for my niece and nephew. They all seem very similar in performance, although the a66 is completely different in hardware and requires more work... the quality and durability looks good. I have the pocketgo s30 with simple and it is decent, easy to load and not a terrible experience. Battery life is not the best, but I think simple settings and shaders might effect that. The input complaint about the hardware face buttons is true, but not important for rpgs. Basically an snes classic by hardware specs. I also have the rg351v with 351elec, arkos wasn't for me. It's really great and I appreciate all the options, especially with assigning emulation cores. The product itself was easy to use, impressive quality.... terrible battery life. Side note, I don't charge hot batteries and I don't use them immediately after charge.

I used this title because I get a lot of questions about whether this one is my favorite, since I had previously picked the RG351P, and then later the RGB10 Max. I recognize that my chosen title is more click-baity than simply "RGB10 Max 2 Review", but I thought it got the point across and the latter wouldn't really say much to those who don't know anything about retro handhelds. I also don't like superlative titles, I'm working on trying to find a balance between informing potential viewers about the content of the video and being genuine.

Just bought a unit. I noticed some charging problems, it won't charge more than 40% even when I charge the device overnight. Know any fix for this issue?
@fonzitheman2 жыл бұрын
Maybe its just showing 40%? I suggest flash your own/different OS to a spare card and see if its different.

Another KZbinr had that same problem... He took the unit apart and unplugged the battery and then plugged it back in and he said that fixed the issue for him

Got this in a few days ago and I'm very impressed. Unfortunately the Wifi switch doesn't seem to do anything. After using two different firmwares I've had to come to grips with that the problem is on the hardware side. This isn't a deal-breaker for me but a bit of a let down. I've also tried using a USB wifi dongle and I still cannot get it to show a Wifi icon nor detect any networks.

The switch didn't do anything for me either. But turning wifi on and searching networks in the Emuelec setup menu worked.

Great vids man. Followed the other one on how to puit RetroOZ. One issue though as you mantinoed the analog sticks are reversed, There is a BETA update for RetroOZ that supposedly fixes it but its just a small compressed file, no instructions at all on how to install it. I hiope we can update it without have to start over every time loading the SD card. Or if you know how to ihnstall that update please let me know. Googed the hell out of it but found nothing.

For all the people considering to buy this console: The 11 th november is commercially celebrated as "Single's Day" in China. To this date there are discounts to be expected.

I imagine the reason there aren't features like a second speaker is because they can manufacture them for the same price. Obviously it's going to cost thousands of dollars to get a mold that isn't a brick, but they're clearly selling more of them so it's worth it.

This looks exactly like something I would purchase because of the preloaded library of games on it. I have a few favorite games from the GB/GBA/GBC/PSP era that I would love to have again. This seems like my only option to get them back since I have ZERO experience and knowledge about how to go about finding older games and putting them on a handheld.

It reminds me the shape of the GPD G5A with greater power. I sold my RGB 10 Max for the X18S and I'm starting to regret watching your video.
@nologicneeded14762 жыл бұрын
I've been watching your videos and I'm not sure whether to buy this or the RGB20S. The RGB20S almost looks like it runs N64 games better but has a worse design. I'm kind of looking for a pre-loaded library. Should I buy this or the RGB20S?

Well, with Steam Games, you can edit the controller config to invert both sticks, so that would fix that issue when it comes to streaming. And idk how it works on RetroOZ, but does it not have the gameControllers config or whatever for SM64 like it does on Anbernic devices? I figured that would let you invert the sticks as well..
@RetroGameCorps3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it’s not that simple. The SDL bindings in Moonlight and ports like SM64 are defined by axis only, and so you can set the X and Y axes, but you can’t invert them. PowKiddy mislabeled the controls in the binary so it’s going to take some time to fix.
@Nexus71c3 жыл бұрын
@@RetroGameCorps ah gotcha. Yeah that makes sense. I just figured at least with Steam, you can probably remap the sticks to have up be down and vice versa. But yeah I get what you mean. Hopefully they fix that in due time

Super undecided between getting this or the original MAX. I think the original has better looks and color options, but the stacked shoulder buttons on the MAX 2 are tempting...

Picked this up. Wanted it for that couch game streaming solution, but just can’t get moonlight working properly on it where it works on my phone no problem. It’s amazing for emulated systems and retro achievements though!
