There's a joke amongst some Gundam fans that if you see a particularly skilled AEUG GM or Nemo pilot during Zeta Gundam, it's Kou Uraki from Stardust Memory.

I don't really get it too since Kou was a particularly mediocre pilot. A bit above standard grunts but not an ace level either. Remarkable for being unremarkable.

You know. I do love that scene at :48 for it truly shows how many Mobile Suits the Argama can really hold when needed. Over a dozen machines!

Those suits are merely riding the Argama. The Argama-class can only hold around 8-12 mobile suits so the rest are definitely just hitching a ride while acting as guards for it. Edit: Closer inspection shows the number of suits dropping from one scene to the next and the next one has pretty much the available host of MS deployed so yeah guess you're technically right.

tbf, the design wasn't that old during the Gryphs War even if most of them are just rebuilt GMs.

@@dexexmachinatu4151yeah, the GM II was fine at what it was built to be: a serviceable cheap force multiplier that was very familiar to Federation mechanics and supply chains already due to it's shared parts with the first GM.

［ジムⅡ(エゥーゴカラー)］エゥーゴで運用されている量産型MS。一年戦争時に運用されていたジムの近代化改修機で性能はすでに旧式化している為、配備はほぼ数合わせ。

I still don't know why they made the sound effects so weird in the Zeta movies (it sounds like they're echoing?) but the new animation is PEAK.
