I'll echo other comments here by saying that both Jace and Baela are great. I always love their scenes individually and together. They really feel like they could be a great King and Queen.

You’re right. The parading of Meleys through the streets of Kings Landings hurts the otherworldliness that has been apart of maintaining their power. The Targaryens still manage to reign for over a century after the death of Morning, and yet still this is another chink in the iron curtain. Appearance and perception will always be the two most important shrouds when dealing with a mostly illiterate society. I also think you’re right that sending Rhaenyra Ser Alfred away is a win-win. She can fetter out a potential turn cloak or give a merely disgruntled lord something important to do. Great reaction as always, I enjoy hearing your thoughts. You give better insight than most reaction channels.

Alicent got what she deserved. She used Viserys’ declining health to get on the council and undermine Rhaenyra. Jace and Haelana should’ve married but Alicent shut it down and now she’s running around crying and complaining. Screw her.

huh? no. If the king is sick, logically the queen and Hand would have to take over ruling the country. Same thing would happen under any king. not sure why you're taking Daemon's rantings at her at face value. Alicent thought Helaena would be used as a hostage and shipped off to Dragonstone. Plus Viserys could have overruled her but didnt. it also wouldnt have done anything to stop Otto wanting Aegon as king. so not sure what you expected to happen from that marriage besides having Helaena not in KL during the Dance.

She didn’t want to do anything that could help Rhaenyra or prevent any kind of war over the throne from breaking out. She wanted to let Rhaenyra suffer and squirm. Otto was not hand at that time of the proposal, Lyonel was. Viserys’ decline in health was her opportunity to gain control over the succession and she used it gladly. Stop pretending like Alicent didn’t enjoy blocking Rhaenyra out and trying to put her in her place. Alicent clearly hated the freedom Rhae had and wanted to clip her wings.

@@Kayla-ep8hu stop pretending like jace and helaena marrying would be good for anyone or anything. it wouldnt achieve or accomplish anything. alicent is pissed because her daughter's been shipped out and become a "hostage". otto even more so wants aegon as king and to plot his ascension because they "stole" his granddaughter. and alicent is angry at Viserys because he overruled her and shipped her daughter out. so she'd be even more determined to take power and start throwing her power around when viserys is too sick to stop her. you at best dont achieve anything and helaena's just not in KL when it all goes down. at worst you moved the Green timeline up a bit and they're even more prepared to deny rhaenyra the throne. as said in episode 1, the gods never made someone who didnt like being in control. sure alicent on some level probably liked it. virtually any noble from south of Moat Cailin would. how is this proving anything? i never denied alicent is a villain, but you chose the most innocuous minor things to attack her on. its literally the queen's job to rule in her husband's name and place when he cant. its a medieval society. you think that doesnt happen in world history?

@@Kayla-ep8hu Also if Helaena's with Jace, then its possible Aegon could have gotten an advantageous marriage of his own. maybe with a Stark. and we know the Blacks are ABSOLUTELY screwed if they dont have the Stark army, especially by the end.

I loved the reaction, I’ve been waiting for the rest of them. I might be alone in this but I liked Daemon’s hallucinations. 🫣 I do get yours and everyone else’s frustrations with Daemon’s overall plot line this season, but he’s my favorite character so any introspection content makes me happy.
