I really loved this video. I have had a 2' trellis from Dollerama for my scindapsus and it growing really well. Look so much better than a hanging basket. I did not think about using a tall trellis for my RT until I saw your video and will get one today! You can also attach your vines horizontal, back and forth, and would make it more fuller. I am in Dundas, ON and nice to meet with a plant person in the area.

Very informative... thank you for posting this ... I’ve been vacillating between a moss pole or a trellis ... this looks great and showcases your guy beautifully :)

Definitely can't go wrong with either, but I definitely think the trellis is a bit more aesthetic for presentation. But the pole will likely give you a happier plant :) Thanks for stopping by!

another high quality video. love your productions, definitely quality that I will strive for! I have just one stem right now on my tetrasperma, but it's at least 6+ ft. I was thinking of chopping it up to have many stems and have it go up a trellis as well! The only issue is where I would put the trellis, as with you, it wouldn't receive the same amount of light .. so it's tricky.

Thank you! Yeah you could definitely chop it up and even plant the cuttings back into the same pot once they’re rooted. Then you can have a bushier plant! But yes space is always a factor, especially living in a small space like an apartment.

Hello, why did you decide to change it from being a hanging plant (where it was doing great) to a climbing one?
@l0shortyangel293 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video. I just got a cutting and I’m trying to design a room using house plants. Having the mini monsters growing on a trellis or pole is ideal, I think.p

Oh that sounds fun! These guys definitely love to climb, I find they start to struggle if they trail too long. You're so welcome, thank you for watching!

Please keep us posted on the propogation you took after you found the plant folded. I've heard they are tricky to get to grow roots, I'd be interested in seeing how it goes for you. 👍

Just over half of the cuttings developed roots and I’ve just moved them into soil. So let’s hope they deal with the transition well 🤞

thankxx for sharing your knowledge. i have needed to mine from restroom window but im worried it will die if i remove its roots that are now attached to wooden cabinet and the wall... any suggestions for an easy transfer?
@melysagtzrex40502 жыл бұрын
or shall i let it grow and attach where it wants hoping it will transform my restroom into the jungle im trying to achieve. i have at least 15 plants in my very small restroom already

Mine is on a moss pole and doing great. Do you think fenestration would have returned given time in the corner? Like, the plant just needs to get used to less light OR is light key? I ask because mine isn't getting any direct light (but lots of bright indirect). Also (I am full of questions today!), did it come with two stems or did it put out a second for you? Mine just has one and I would love for it to branch out.
@foliageloft34883 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure, I imagine the brighter summer days have more of an impact than moving the plant a few feet. It would make for an interesting experiment! Plants can adapt to lower light situations but will not look as impressive as when a plant can get as much light as it needs. Mine came with three stems and now it has a fourth coming through the soil. Taking cuttings is a great way to get some branching started 🙂

Can you make a video of that begonia maculata wightii of yours? What a beauty! And she’s flowering too! I want to know how you care for it in Canada :)

Had mine for 2 years and it hasn't grown very much at all. It definitely looks healthy and it's in a nice filtered light spot. So what else can I do to encourage more growth.
