What a wonderful performance. Every note sounds like a solo unto itself. This is one of my favorite trombone "concerti". Tony Baker's playing looks and sounds effortless. Like he is not even trying. Perfect intonation. And his tone quality!!!!!!! And his improvised cadenza during the second section was priceless with his quotes from some unexpected sources. Made me smile in spite of myself. I also loved that he switched to his King for it. I have never seen anyone else do that. I had the great pleasure to play with Tony a few years ago before Covid and before some health issues of my own. He was just as nice as his playing is excellent. I am so glad I found this performance. I will be watching it again and again for sure. Thank you so much for posting this, Tony!
