27:49 when you really feel Snow (Hey Oh) it’s achingly beautiful. It moves me so deeply in my heart. So sad, but beautiful, peaceful, moving, deep. So simple too. But just so beautiful - one of their finest, showing their sensitive side - so tender, melodic. Songs like this really bring home how unique and special this band is. It’s a song that seems to capture life and everything. The longing. The driving rhythm of the chorus. The dexterous guitar work, the melodic sensitivity of the bass, the lyricism of voice, the fluidity of drumming. Few bands can do this. So special.

They are still kicking ass after all these years. The very few left from the late 80's-early 90's grunge band genre. U had Primus, Nirvana, these guys, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, and a handful of other bands grinding away in clubs and on the road. The last bands to have their music make it to the radio that produced revenue. Just before the Napster days. Now bands must be able to go on the road to make a living. Which is how I think it is the best way for everyone: band, fans, location the event is held. But next to Nirvana and AIC, these guys kill it.
@JD-od6jh2 жыл бұрын
Don't forget that Primus still sucks! Even to this day when they preform it's always a kickass show! 🙏 But I agree. Very few bands have stood the test of time like RHCP did. They are (in my humble totally unobjective opinion) the best band to have ever done it.
@bgreen36702 жыл бұрын
@@JD-od6jh I agree wholeheartedly, however I am a DeadHead at heart and the Grateful Dead stood the test of time without having but one song make it to the radio rotation in the 80's. It's too bad Jerry Garcia couldn't take a break from touring which led to the band's demise. Other than that you have the Stones, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Roger Waters. Unbelievable that the bassist for the Grateful Dead is still performing with authority at 80 years old. Unbelievable. His son is now in his band which you don't see too often. But how music history changed that day in 94 when Kurt Cobain was either offed by that crazy woman or figured out a way to off himself with his toe on the trigger of a shot gun. I know he was in pain but he was a new father to Francis Bean. I just can't square it. Anyway, his death changed the course of history for many artists, just as the death of Jerry Garcia. It's always the good ones that are taken from us too soon.

I love seeing all the young faces in the crowd and appreciating the vibe I grew up on. I love all music and even the stuff at the top of the charts today but nothing today holds a candle to the bands from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s to the early 2000s. Rock has a spirit that is missing from most of what's popular today. It's a poetic vibe full of conflict that questions life itself. Maybe I'm just middle-aged but today's music feels like it's on repeat. There is plenty of great music coming out all the time but it's not mainstream and you have to tap into it. As I said, I like all music but magic is rare and I am waiting for the next wave of creative, musical magic.
