Rheinberger - Abendlied - mit Noten

Ein weiterer beachtens- und natürlich hörenswerter Konzert-Mitschnitt des Universitäts-Chors München aus dem Jahre 2010. Ich stelle ihn an dieser Stelle gerne mit Notenrolle zum Mitlesen zur Verfügung. - Am Besten im Vollbildmodus anschauen.

Ich habe dieses Lied in allen Variationen mir jetzt angehört und ich muss sagen es ist eins der schönsten Lieder, die ich je in dieser Formation gehört habe. Ich bedanke mich für dieses wunderbare Lied.

Please note before commenting: I posted this video to give singers the opportunity to practice the piece on their own by reading along with the notes. I won't say anything about the quality of the piece, as I only used the original recording to create the tutorial. It's a shame that many viewers think they have to judge the quality of the live performance instead of simply enjoying the moment. I am convinced that this recording of the choir of the University of Munich was not intended as an entry for a singing competition.

I'm not at all impressed with very large choirs, like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and obviously the one above (just to name a couple). They are very difficult to control and get a well-balanced sound. After hearing smaller, more precise singers like VOCES8 (and Scholars), among others like them, it's difficult going back to this vocal chaos..

Well, it is a very large group. I think it was nicely done overall, but too many entrances were not together.

I don’t mind some entrances not being perfectly together. It’s the blocked phrasing and the heavy attacks that annoy me. Too much weight on notes that should be smooth as butter. Clearly the conductor’s fault.

No, it wasn’t. This was 3 minutes of turning a lovely singing bird into an elephant with constipation issues.
