An interesting related study would be to consider the side-effects of prolonged pain from Osteoarthritis. Most of my lower joints are kaput from a long, hard life including Motorcycles, HM Forces, Farming, being a madman when young. So, I am now paying for all the fun! Would I do it all again? Hell yes! But, this is a serious question. I do think constant pain does impact many other areas, such as the effect on sleep, the heart and possibly Blood Platelets from the deep inflammation. I'm not keen to have surgery, as my options are all at the very major intervention end of replacement joints, which carry other risks, such as deep infections of the replacement joints, that antibiotics cannot reach. Anyway, just a suggestion.
