Not sure why KZbin recommended this channel, but since there are no comments yet, I'll throw in an older person's perspective. The way the world has worked for the last 5000 years is that if there is a piece of disputed land between two tribes or nations, they go to war over it. Whoever can win that land militarily and also govern it gets it. That's how the world works and always has worked. It has only been since about 1945 that we have been discussing things in terms of how they "should be". In order to enforce your own moral concept of right and wrong, you need an overpowering military force to enact your idea of how things should be. Diplomacy, sanctions, a bad reputation in the global community, finger wagging, and moralizing are fine, but these are useless without a military to back them up. The victors are not generally prosecuted for war crimes. War crimes are things that are imposed on the losers of a war. No one prosecuted the United States for intentionally targeting women and children when bombing cities in Germany, for example. If the United States had lost to Germany, they would have been prosecuted. The United States currently has a law on its books that would require the Marines to rescue any US leader from The Hague if they were to be arrested and brought up on charges. The concept of international law and war crimes is a farce if it cannot be enforced by a military power. International law is something that has applied only to weaker countries for the last 80 years as a result of a superpower enforcing its generally benevolent will on the rest of the world. If Germany had won WW2, they would have the same power the United States has had over world governance with much more evil results. The Arabs will never accept a Jewish state of any size, because they consider that land theirs. You could shrink Israel down to the city of Tel Aviv. That would only encourage an attack by the Arabs to finish them off. A two state solution is not feasible in any sense because the Arabs still consider an Israel of any size to be illegitimate. One side needs to win totally. An Arab victory (short of Israel being nuked by Iran) would look like this: The Israelis are invited to move to a place like the United States where they can be protected, given some sovereign land, rebuild their temple, and live in peace. The United States and the world as a whole would be better off as a result of that. An Israeli victory looks like this: The Arabs are expelled and Israel is expanded into Gaza and the West Bank. There are around 22 Arab nations. None of them are willing to accept the Palestinians because when they have in the past, the Palestinians attempt to overthrow the Arab governments that invited them. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Palestinians were on the side of Saddam Hussein. Hundreds of thousands were removed from Kuwait as a result. Same story in Jordan. No one wants them, because they are not productive and cause trouble. The question for Israel is where to move the Palestinians to. They're currently in talks with Central African countries, but that probably won't pan out. TLDR: 2 State solution not possible.
