As a Brit, it actually blows my mind how sugary american cereal must be because I personally think curiously cinammon is on the sugary side and they called it bland and not sugary at all😳😳😳😳

For Americans the foreign cereals are bland, but for other countries the US cereal is sickly sweet. I don't think its necessarily a good vs bad thing; just upbringing and taste buds.

And health regulations :D Cereal is mainly marketed at kids, and in most places it's mainly kids that eat the thing so serving what amounts to basically candy or cookies for breakfast is pretty weird.

UK cereals used to be a lot sugary than they are now. Everything has took a dip due to sugar tax laws. I actually find a lot of the cereals you ate of ours still a bit too sugary. When I visited America, I had the Lucky Charms and I couldn't finish them, felt like I was literally eating a bag of sugar.

As someone from the UK who lived in the US for a while, US foods are so crazily filled with sugar and additives that are banned here - I'm not surprised UK food tastes bland afterwards!

Yes, I couldn't agree more. I'm from Denmark and I was once traveling with an American guy through Australia & every now and then our parents would send us a parcel with some sweets and gifts from back home. So we tried each others favorite candies and snacks. He was really trying hard to be polite, but I could tell he didn't like them. He was always like 'yeah it's nice.. but it's a little bland. I'm sorry' 😅

America can use fake sweeteners and food dyes that are not allowed to be used in most other countries so we are conditioned to think things are dull and unsweet elsewhere when in reality it's healthier and what the food really should taste like...

Yeah, I ordered a US sweets box to see for myself and more than half of it was just too sweet for my taste. Things like twinkies, snowballs, poptards and so on are so sweet, you can't taste anything else but the sweetness.

@@Yakumo00o I stopped eating sugar years ago and yeah, it's crazy how sweet things can get in US foods. Also salt, one thing I noticed with canned soups I use to eat is how you can literally smell the salt reeking from the bowl. It's nasty.

I love that I found your videos. My best friend passed right after my 21st birthday, my friend I grew up with and made plenty of memories with. @@AelaMusic They used to be brightly coloured but they say they use natural coloring ingredients that replaced the artificial ones, hence the pale colors. We sometimes buy the store brand version, these are still very bright.

It’s also why they looked duller. US still uses a lot of stuff in our foods that’s literally banned in other countries, and a big one is certain artificial colors and also flavors. Same story with the Rice Krispies. We use bleached flour which is banned or not used as prevalently in other counties. That’s why they were whiter.

As a Brit I always thought Curiously Cinnamon (which used to be called Cinnamon Grahams) were really sweet! American cereals must be so sugary in that case! Also I have taken offence… Our food is not bland 😂

Cinnamon Toast Crunch 29g Curiously Cinnamon 25g Raisin Bran 29g Sultana Bran UK 30g Sultana Bran Aus 29g Frosted Flakes 32g Frosties UK 37g Frosties Aus 41g Froot Loops US 31g Froot Loops CA 37g Froot Loops Aus 39g Rice Krispies US 10g Rice Krispies UK 8g Rice Krispies CA 11g Rice Bubbles Aus 9g This is grams of total sugar per 100g of cereal. As you can see, all of them pretty much had the same amount of sugar, with some exceptions.
