I believe it's a trick, because on adverts they can say "it's only X amount sugar" but in fine text that's per serving. On the back they also have a separate section for recommended daily intakes, presumably to trick the consumer into believing they are eating far less sugar.

Lucky Charms were officially on sale in the UK in the early 1990s and they lasted for a couple of years before being withdrawn. I don’t believe an official line was given, but certainly I think the sugar level was a factor in its demise. You can still buy them here but they’re all imported from the US and they usually charge about £7 a box. (Or nearly $10 per box based on current exchanges rates.)

I went to the Kelloggs factory in Manchester and saw Cornflakes, Frosties and Honey Nut Cornflakes (same as Honey Nut Frosted Flakes, so that's not a US exclusive) being made. I was surprised by how simple a process is actually was. The malt flavouring, vitamins and sugar solutions are just a fine mist applied to the squished corn. It all starts on a common production line.

Serving sizes are scams to keep the nutritional information (sugar, fat etc) lower. I find it weird that this comparison acknowledges the arbitrarily different serving sizes, but then talks about the number of servings as a pro/con. The only number that counts is the weight of the entire product (in relation to the price).
@Varizen873 жыл бұрын
The Acidic smell Harry noticed in Fruit Loops is Citric Acid. It's also in Apple Jacks. Food Theory has an episode about it. The answer will surprise you if you haven't seen that episode but grew up eating the cereals.

We don't have Honey Nut Cheerios in the States, either. They've been Honey Nut FLAVOR Cheerios since sometime in 2006, when the actual almond pieces were removed. I haven't bought a box after that; they ruined a nearly perfect cereal that was the same since 1979.

Cereal isn't a generalised word for the crunchy bits of sugar you pour milk onto, its a blanket word covering all products made from grains. Frosted flakes are named that way because of how they came about. Kellogs took their Corn Flakes and frosted them with sugar, naming them Sugar Frosted Flakes. In the early 80s Kelloggs dropped the word Sugar from many of their cereals' names. The word Cereal just means a grain that you eat such as oats, wheat or corn. I think that is how Weetabix can call itself cereal although it's not what Americans think of as a traditional breakfast cereal.

I don’t know why,but when Irene throws shade towards the UK foods,it feels like she’s legitimately out for blood and elitist.Joe just felt like the jokey lovable gung ho guy who is less throwing shade and more teasing.Medha (Nando’s episode) didn’t really throw shade and was more defensive when Harry threw shade,idk she seemed too innocent to me. Remember i said FELT,I’m sure Irene’s actually really nice and is just playing it up for the cameras like Joe and Harry.Harry seemed great at pretending that Weetabix was actually good.Seriously lil’Darknorman 29 HATED them as a kid,especially when they melted in the milk,when I was a little older I actually tried the minis and also hated them.21 y/o Dark still remembers how bland and bad they taste,but Weetos were awesome when I was a kid,how could you hate them Harry?

They would eventually run out of food and the channel would have to end

Outside of the big cities that have entire shops dedicated to American imports, normal supermarkets have an American sweets section which always have Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops, either boxes and/or those single serving bowls. I guess dedicated import sections don't count when it comes to "having them in the UK".

I live in the UK and I can say that I've seen fruit loops and Lucky Charms in some corner shops (for my Americans corner shop are like small convenient store in local areas) in like the cereal are not like the "American" area. But they're not everywhere, at least for me so you'll find them in a few shops but I have found them in like "corner shops" (idk what they're called my fellow brits) in high streets (im not sure how to explain high street for the Americans that dont know haha sorry.)

Weetos have been my favourite cereal ever since they were launched here. Their taste is unlike any other chocolate cereal.

sadly all good cereal in the UK that we all grew up with. golden nuggets, coco pops etc etc have all drastically changed so much that they aren't as great anymore. the only cereal worth eating these days from your child hood is golden nuggets while not as great as they once were is still okey and wheetos. coco pops has changed so much it tastes like actual cardboard.

@NitroShadow then you dont remember the taste very well then because they were brilliant before 2015. but since the new sugar reduction shit came into play for all cereals we loved they taste nothing of chocolate and instead are just tiny bits of cardboard.
