Yes Dr Gurnita, This is useful and informative advice. Emphasises the importance of a holistic approach when thinking about this condition. It is nice to get informed from a rheumatology professional , as so many questionable videos out there, of people claiming to have cured their condition.

Misdiagnosed for almost 3 years .. staph infection of the spine and 2 rods put in my back.. pt .. pain management..lots of mris and finally was told i have AS ..my neck is locked and im already hunched over like a 90 year old ..trying to get into a rheumatologist soon.. i really hope there is help at this point ..drs all told me to go on disability.. the pain is unbearable..im so damn tired ..and im not old enough to retire .. how are you supposed to pay all your bills and live off disability?....

I hear you. Such a demoralising account of suffering. I hope you find your way…. I too have AS, undiagnosed for decades after onset of symptoms. If you live in Australia I found knowledgeable and compassionate rheumatologist who recognised AS in women ( some older Drs may still not believe this) , and our Gov PBS greatly subsidises biologics ( we pay a healthy level of taxes for the greater good of all) so, even on minimal income, it would be affordable - I just am overjoyed with massive improvement in pains and symptoms , energy, function and mobility, mood and overall quality of life. If your State or Country doesn’t help you could you migrate? I couldn’t bear the thought of not being able to afford these medications; must be so burdensome , and unfair. Everyone deserves opportunities to live their best life, no matter their circumstances or geography. Wishing you the very best….

I would like to visit them as I have been suffering from the same symptoms of AS for the past 60 days and consulted spine surgeon a week before, and he predicted that I may be suffering the intermediate or mid stage of AS and asked to take MRI for further investigation.

If you don’t want to take NSAID’s, I recommend a vitamin based alternative called Atribion. You can mainly find it in Korean markets or Hispanic markets like Mega Mart. It’s pure vitamin and I used to take that before I knew what HUMIRA or even what this disease was and I felt normal for awhile. Works better than NSAIDS in my opinion, and again, pure vitamins.

@rakhisworld4867 it's not possible to give you that answer, it depends. Your illness can go into remission and you are "healthy" off meds while remission lasts. For example, mine went into remission and after a year and I was off meds for 3 years & then AS got triggered again but at a different place. Now I am on meds for many years & remission is not happening 🤷‍♀️
