My Rhino Iguana Tank approves of this message. Something to add. They go through an aggressive phase during adolescence which was the only time that I was ever bitten. That was not an insignificant bite either even as an adolescent.

My wife and her sister grew up with a pair of adult green iguanas. There father said that they were very protective of his daughters especially if they started crying. Apparently he couldn't even get close without getting tail whipped if they were crying. So I figured I'd share that tidbit since we were on the iguana topic.

Probably because he's chill. And from what I've seen with green iguanas, they love scrabbling all over. Basically like petting a chill German Shepherd. He feels comfortable around it, but still understands that if the iguana feels threatened, it can still do damage

Great video! As an owner of one of these amazing animals (a nearly full-grown 8 year old male), I found the assessment accurate and thoughtful. Although a lot of work, these are some of the best guys ever. About 25 years ago, I worked at a pet store that had a full grown male. He shredded two of my fingers when I was taking the water bowl out of his cage. He bit down so hard that his teeth went through my fingernails. It took about 15 years for the scars to finally fade. There were even scars under my nails! But there was blood everywhere, even splattered on the glass of the tank he was in. I left a blood trail from his cage to the bathroom (about 50 feet), I also got extremely ill within 24 hours (salmonella). I handle large lizards regularly, but these guys scare the hell out of me.

Hi Clint. I have a very good idea for you, and that is to make a video comparing the green iguana with the Rhino iguana. There are 3 very good reasons to do so. 1. They are both iguanas by name and have very similar abilities. 2. Their diets are very similar and they both need similarly sized inclosures with only a couple of thing differing between them. 3. They both recieved the exact same score of (2.6 out of 5) for only slightly different reasons. If you haven't already done it, they why not give that a go.

The Rhino Iguana is by far my favorite animal and I reaserch them a lot (even though I won't get one until after college). I love big animals with a passion, big dogs, big birds, big snakes, and especially big lizards. It doesn't help I love lizards in general, my baby is a bearded dragon I get her out everyday and I've become her glorified pillow and climbing thing. I seriously can't exaggerate how much I love Rhino Iguanas, they're a lizard, huge, and both badass but cute.

I bought mine on an Impulse 2 years ago . The first two years have been quite excessive in the violence I've experienced from this thing but it has slowly gotten better. This morning I woke up to quite a surprise as I thought that I had a 2-year-old male rhino iguana since purchase but yet I woke up this morning to two eggs in the cage and when I brought it to the place I bought it to to confirm if the eggs are fertile or not she laid another egg on my shoulder iguana to a female rhino iguana but luckily I named it a unisex name so I don't have to worry about changing the name but now I'm definitely interested in breeding after this experience

I liked the video a lot but I do have to disagree on one point. You don't really need a giant water bowl for them to soak in. What a lot of cyclura owners do is give them a bath in the bath tub and that work great since you can control the temperature, it can be part of the taming process, and you can also drain it and fill it back up very easily! Or if you don't have a bathtub, you can just fill up a plastic tub and soak them in there. When are you going to do a video on the lewisi hybrids? From what I have seen from owning one, working for a breeder, and being part of a facebook group for them, the rhinos seem to be a bit more aggressive and likely to bite than the lewisi hyrbids and I personally think they don't make as good pets as either the lewisi hybrids or the cuban iguanas. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Aside from Cubans and Rhinos, do you know of any other rock iguanas in the pet trade? I was hoping to find a species from the Bahamas, but it doesn’t look like they’re on the market, so I want a worthy substitute.

Clint's Reptiles I want a species that’s the either largest of the rock iguanas, or the most colorful. As long as it’s on the pet market
