Never more humankind will have another David Coverdale. He has got the most powerful voice in History of Rock and at the same time most tricky- changing short and long distances, sudden stops, amazing emphasizing of words at the right time, giving all of his soul in the song. Simply, the best ever vocal in History of Hard Rock. No more another like him- 1000% sure. "Fool for Your Loving No More" epic and never surpassed by anybody.

in general music went downhill after 1975.1977. The 80s were full of plastic people, disco, rap and hiphopshit, synthesizers where there should have been Big Hammond organs, drumcomputers in place of the imaginative schwungmeisters thar buld on old jazzmasters, vocals from 3rd ratenew wave idiots, and so on....... And thats just a part of it.

To be fair, Vai contributed very little to this album. The songs were written by Coverdale and Adrian Vandenberg. Vai came in to do overdubs and the odd solo after Vandenberg injured his hand. He then went on to tour the album with them. If you want to hear what Steve Vai’s take on the song is listen to the version in the link below after listening to this one. Then you’ll really hear Vai’s stamp on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2XWf5ahnr9li5o

Tonight is the first time I've heard the earlier version of this and 'Here I Go Again' and I have to say I really like the sound of the older versions. Maybe it's just because I'm older idk. I just think the older versions sound more natural and I like that. I can actually hear the clarity of the notes on the bass and guitars much better on the old version. You can check it out right here on youtube if you wish, just search for the original versions.
