David Coverdale doesn’t get half the recognition he deserves. He is one of the best rock vocalists ever. His vocals on slow & easy are out standing.

Never more humankind will have another David Coverdale. He has got the most powerful voice in History of Rock and at the same time most tricky- changing short and long distances, sudden stops, amazing emphasizing of words at the right time, giving all of his soul in the song. Simply, the best ever vocal in History of Hard Rock. No more another like him- 1000% sure. "Fool for Your Loving No More" epic and never surpassed by anybody.

in general music went downhill after 1975.1977. The 80s were full of plastic people, disco, rap and hiphopshit, synthesizers where there should have been Big Hammond organs, drumcomputers in place of the imaginative schwungmeisters thar buld on old jazzmasters, vocals from 3rd ratenew wave idiots, and so on....... And thats just a part of it.

@@marknolde3541 Your dead on about the shitty synths that replaced the analog keyboard and organ sounds. Hammonds, fender rhodes, these things are "timeless" where as those early synths practically scream 80s!! Some otherwise good albums of the time have gone back and replaced some of these horrible misjudgements with better sounds like Floyds Momentary Lapse album. Dave Gilmour said we were trying to embrace the technology of the times , the only problem was it was the 80s😄

To be fair, Vai contributed very little to this album. The songs were written by Coverdale and Adrian Vandenberg. Vai came in to do overdubs and the odd solo after Vandenberg injured his hand. He then went on to tour the album with them. If you want to hear what Steve Vai’s take on the song is listen to the version in the link below after listening to this one. Then you’ll really hear Vai’s stamp on it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2XWf5ahnr9li5o

For information the song was on Reading and willing (1980) ...its micky moody and Bernie madsen. Its not , american probably you are may believe a composition of the Slip of tongue album . Its a re recording. Like Crying in the rain and Here i go again were re recording from the saint and sinners album (1982) so Sykes and Steve had nothig to Do with the Song writing of the tune .

Yeah, yeah, mmm I was born under a bad sign Left out in the cold I'm a lonely man who knows Just what it means to lose control But I took all the heartache And turned it to shame Now I'm moving moving on And I ain't taking the blame Don't come running to me I know I've done all I can A hard loving woman like you Just makes a hard loving man So I can say it to you babe I'll be a fool for your loving no more A fool for your loving no more I'm so tired of trying I always end up crying Fool for your loving no more I'll be a fool for your loving no more I'm tired of hiding my feelings You left me lonely too long I gave my heart and you tore it apart Oh baby you done me wrong Don't come running to me I know I've done all I can A hard loving woman like you Just makes a hard loving man So I can say it to you babe I'll be a fool for your loving no more A fool for your loving no more I'm so tired of trying I always end up crying Fool for your loving no more I'll be a fool for your loving no more I'll be a fool for your loving no more no more no more So I can say it to you babe I'll be a fool for your loving no more A fool for your loving no more I'm so tired of trying I always end up crying Fool for your loving no more A fool for your loving no more

Great GREAT band! Saw them live twice during the Whitesnake and Slip of the tongue era. Brought talent, grit and class in a genre suffering from lack of substance and parody.

that's who that is? seen his name around YT, but never bothered to view any of those vids. really like how these guys slash their guitars. even laying it on the stage and finger walking or whatever method that is. really wish i could have seen this stage set live what with the drummer being way up in the air @1:34.

How in the hell do we go from this to grunge a few years after this release!!?? This whole album is a mind blower, no one rocks out to grunge or will be reminded of how great the music is 30 years later

I was a teen in the '80s when this album came out in the U.S. I loved it back then and still do. Tonight is the first time I've heard the earlier version of this and 'Here I Go Again' and I have to say I really like the sound of the older versions. Maybe it's just because I'm older idk. I just think the older versions sound more natural and I like that. I can actually hear the clarity of the notes on the bass and guitars much better on the old version. You can check it out right here on youtube if you wish, just search for the original versions.

Perhaps it's because the originals are way better? Also Neil Murrays bass drives the original... Sarzo's is AWOL.
