If it sounds so good in 2020, imagine what it sounded like circa 1978. I always thought CHIC'S music was out of this world and 40+ years later I still do. Gosh these guys and gals had it all....bad bass guitar, sick rhythm guitar, good keyboard licks (especially on Good Times), pulsating disco beats, lush female voices, strings. Damn!

I've never understood what some people have against disco. Maybe it isn't heavy sounding like Rock and Roll and Metal? Someone who is 20 y older than me said that he missed out on disco bc he thought it was terrible because of all the comments others have made. Once in a while, someone brings back disco, such as Jamiroquai in Canned Heat and it becomes super popular.

yall know what my favorite part of this song is? it's hearing LUTHER VANDROSS holla DANCE!! repeatedly in the background. that's him and other singers tearing it up. LUTHER was part of the background vocal when the song was originally recorded in the studio. he is not shown in this video of course because he was not a member of CHIC. but he did sing background for them back then. i wanted to clarify that for those who were eagerly waiting to correct me. lol i love it!

But I don’t think their parents weren’t even born or just born when this song came out and I was barely a teenager when this song came out lol… I remember one of our Friday night school dances at the gym played this song almost every Friday night dances. Debuted on 12/10/1977 and became an early 1978 disco smashed (reached #6 in late February) It was great living in that time. They really look like they're having lots of fun up there doing this great number.

It’s not gone......We have KZbin! Thank God! Always grooved on this stuff, & Niles Rodgers, no matter what anyone says, DISCO IS NOT DEAD! Not to those of us who grooved on it back in the day, & who’s souls still to this day groove on it! PEACE & LOVE

RIP Bernard Edwards, you stayed in the pocket, played funky lines and added feel into the Groove. Nile Rodgers is an awesome Songwriter & Performer that favors Fender Stratocaster guitars like I do. Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin are great singers, it's amazing how their individual talents combined and resulting group Chemistry. Chic is a classy group that created timeless tunes.
