Great Bowl Rod! I repaired a log splitter after that piece pushed the splitter part off the end of the I beam, he gave me that Locust and the Box Elder I have for fixing the splitter. It's been a Beast since DAY 1 !

I never would've thought that such beauty would emerge from such a lumpy, bumpy, lopsided piece of wood. (It seems wood is a lot like people. You can't judge it by outward appearance, but in the hands of someone with skill and discernment, all the elegance and character inside comes out for all to see.) I think this is one of my very favorite pieces. You are gifted and it shows. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely stunning , beautiful, incredible piece of timber, you let it speak to you, forced nothing and just kept chipping away until the final beauty shone through. The finish you got was out of this world. I have yet to try a spray shellac, so far only brushing on with mixed success at getting a streak free, brush marked finish. Well done Sir.

I was amazed at how dark the bark was and so many injuries it held, and it still was a thing of beauty. I know very little about woods, but there was a great since of age about it.

It’s really big but it’s also really beautiful! My grandmother had a wooden salad bowl set and the largest bowl had similar dimensions to the one you made. I love the character this has between the rough spots and beautiful wood grain. Really nice job! Thank you so much for sharing this 💜

Another nice turn. Locust is very hard but as you have shown it finishes very well. The black locust I turn always seems to have great wood character. Semper FI (USMC 1978-82)
